Im posting this on behalf of a lovely (vanilla) male friend with the hope of getting some advice from someone in the know.
Apparently although in his late twenties this guy has never managed full sex with a lady due to his foreskin being so tight it hurts him to penetrate 
Now, he didn't show it to me but he described it as too tight to be able to retract it himself, however it has on 2 or 3 occasions just stretched over and exposed the helmet when he has attempted intercourse. (its making my eyes water just thinking about it and i don't even have one!)
He wont go to his gp as he is convinced they will suggest circumcision  but Im sure that is only for extreme cases.
Anyone have any advice please? |

It's far from an extreme solution and is in fact the best solution for the problem. There is pretty much nothing else that will help. He either needs to man up and go to the GP or resign himself to life as a monk... |

I reckon circumcision on health and hygiene grounds. You really need to have a shiny, squeaky clean helmet.  .
If the choice is loose foreskin but have sex - got to be loose the foreskin. |

Yep, speaking from experience the only way is for him to go to the docs and he will get a referral to see a surgeon regarding circumcision. It's only a minor op and aftercare is quite easy.
To be honest it's a case of suffer or get it sorted. |

My 11 year old has the same problem. 1st doctor said it will all grow and be fine.
Am still contemplating taking back to the docs on Friday for a secobd opinion.
Son cant discuss this with his dad so hence following the op and asking advice.
His will only expose about a third of his head only |

Yes he will need a circumcision, tell him to man up and get to the docs.
Admittedly I had mine done as a kid but for a week of pain he gets to have sex for the rest of his life.
No brainer really.
You got to force him to make an appointment though, he's a man, he will agree and never get around to it himself! |

Why the assumption that uncut cocks are unclean? We are born with foreskins for a purpose-to protect the glans. Phimosis is the only real reason for circumcision. If you can't manage to keep your cock clean, then it doesn't say much for the rest of your body. |

I don't think anyone is saying that uncut cocks are unclean in general, what they're saying is that if a guy can't pull his foreskin back and clean it then it has the potential to be unclean. It also has the potential for long term health issues... |

I have a tight foreskin which can be painful if retracted while I have an erection, but it doesn't stop me having sex, Since I have been using lube as well, there have been no problems at all. I have asked my GP about it though and, while circumcision is one solution, I was also told that steroid creams may help. I haven't yet used any but it might be worth trying before the big chop.

No fault of his, just can't be retracted and clean. So there could be a hygeine element here too.

I don't know about adults, but my son when younger was prescribed a steroid cream to apply to his foreskin that after a couple of weeks went from not being able to retract atall, to being easily able to fully retract, he was about 9 I think at the time.

I came across this elsewhere -
"A tight foreskin or phimosis can be loosened by gently stretching it for about 15 mins twice a day for about 1 or 2 months. Doing this in a warming bath or shower or wrapping in a warm face cloth before hand can help.
High potency topical steroids applied to the foreskin during this process can also help.
There is an option of full or partial circumcision but this removes about 30 to 40 percent of erogenous nerve tissue and can also reduce pleasure by causing dehydration and thickening of the glans over time as well.
Stretching the foreskin by getting really hard, pulling it back until it gets to the tight area then holding on to the base of your dick firmly and then squeezing your pelvic floor muscles to make more blood enter your dick and this will gently stretch the foreskin all the way around. It can cause small tears that can be a bit painful but not harmful.
If your foreskin gets progressively tight over few months/years then see your doctor as it could mean you have a condition called BXO that can be a pre cancerous lesion."

Someone I know had this problem. He ended up being circumcised. No more problem. It wasn't a big deal. |
