Apologies if this has been a topic before.

I find it , hmm not annoying, maybe a red flag for people who block you but have never interacted.

I’m thinking more of the local (to me) profiles.

Does anyone else find if people are too close (5 minute walk to half a mile away) they do this?

It’s kinda pointless as they don’t usually show face pictures anyway.

People block for lots of reasons.

It could well be that you aren't what they are looking for, so the use the block as a filter.

Don't gey hung up on a block

.

Maybe they have seen your face pic, know you and don't fancy a chat, so think blocking is the easiest option, saves you both time and effort.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for someone to block anyone they want. And especially if they live very close .I had a guy on here use to who's near function to try and find my house one evening. I had left it on accidently and he got very close to where I live and expected to a BJ at least because he went to such effort. Now I live in a rural area so it was very unsettling to know someone would go to such lengths. I rarely use the block button but I am more than happy to block anyone who is living within a few miles of me.

I view someone blocking me as a perfectly acceptable way of them missing out on the best shag of their lives…

That one should definitely have been reported to admin and had his account closed. That is stalking.

I pre-block people if I don't want to see their photos or statuses in my feed all the time, or if I don't like their personality they've displayed in their profile or forums. And I don't get offended when people do the same to me

They do it for several reasons I imagine one yes you are too close so they'd bump into you all the time the other might be you are not their type they can see quite clearly whether you are for them or maybe they don't like your posts in forums .

People may have seen how people interact in forums and blocked them on that basis

People who are close by may not want to be recognised by other locals so block on that basis

Profile not available just means they are hiding for a bit

I tend to pre block if I don't like their status updates or pics, so they don't keep appearing in my feed.

I'm blocked by numerous people who post on the forums but I've never once spoken to them so I have to assume that they don't like what I have to say or the fact we are in different countries is an issue.

I've no problem blocking or being blocked by people in my locality and I definitely wouldn't see it as a red flag.

I do this as well. I also block if they keep messaging me despite my profile saying I’m not meeting.

Gone and completely forgotten.

I block local profiles I'm not interested in, so they don't fill up status updates, or Who's Near.

Non locals get blocked because I don't like attitudes or behaviour.

I wouldn't worry about it OP, if someone has blocked you they had their reasons, you are never going to know why so no point dwelling on it, plenty more profiles on here.

It may be simply because you’re not for them and due to the vicinity of yourself they block just to cover any unwanted messages rather than ignore any potential messages 🤷🏽‍♂️

Or could be something completely different to cause the blockage 😳 either way don’t get mad/cross/upset just simply move on and keep smiling 😁

Carlisle usually

I block for thousands of reasons.

Sick of seeing the same old unsuitable people on who's near? Block em and find some fresh blood.

Don't like their pictures or status appearing in my local updates? Block em.

Sends a friend request without ever messaging me and with absolutely no information on their profile? Block em.

Think of it as a red flag if you like. If they've already discounted you as an option for whatever reason then I doubt it's going to affect the likelihood of an ongoing relationship developing 💜

If you see them blocking you as a red flag, then I’m not sure what the issue is?

They’ve blocked you and you’re discounting them. Done deal

A den in the Glen

My block list is gigantic. Broadly speaking in a few categories:

1. Not my cup of tea.

2. I'm not theirs.

3. They've blocked me. I don't want them secretly unblocking me at 0300hrs, having a play to my pics and then re blocking.

4. Have tested my patience on the forums or with messages. (Just one).

Don't take it personally.

It is complete normal. It means they are not interested and I would feel seeing this post justifies their actions further.

Block mean NO.

And No means No.

I block people for a variety of reasons without the need to ever interact with them. For example, if someone is being a dick on the forum or in my local updates, or someone who is into drugs. As I know we're not going to get on. It makes my life easier.

Blocking is fine , it’s for the user to use in whatever way suits them . For some it’s an admin tool , for others it’s a filter . I don’t care if someone blocks me , their reason is their own business .

My personal favourite though was a block recently by someone so I couldn’t see that they’d pinched one of my photos 😂

Purely speculative obviously. But they're out there. Checking. Tracking, monitoring. 👀
