its a rough estimation but if you go out in newcastle on any given night you will see for yourself that most go on like this, you will also see it the airport, there are some very nice people in newcastle but upto a certain age this programme tells the story pretty close to everyday life.

Only seen a couple of the episodes, but come on honestly, most Geordies, even at that young age don't behave like that.

We're often out in Toon on a Sat and rarely see sights as shown.

Couldn't be they are acting up for the cameras, could it ?

They aren't even fr newcastle. I'm sure all of them are from Sunderland and Middlesbrough and no we aren't all like that

lol didnt say everyone, i said most upto a certain age and to prove my point, when you see them in them packed pubs and clubs with everyone acting exactly the same as them, where do you think they are? lol yes theres certain bits of acting involved but alot of it is true to form of _eordies upto a certain age.

im disgusted by it, im a geordie and i never act like that..

my son is 20 years old and he doesnt act like that..in fact i go to town most saturdays and i never see that!!!!

ive also been in formed many of the morons on the show are from middlesborough and sunderland..

so geordiecouple i agreee with you 100%

I had a geordie girlfriend for a little while many many years ago. she was - there's no other word for it - canny.

Took me to a pub in the toon that I'm sure is long gone now, called the Broken Doll - a proper dive but with a great alternative crowd and my kind of music, loved it.

iv lived n worked in the city centre all my life n its a great place thats why ppl visit our fine city from far n wide and return to visit friends they made on past visits thats why we have a.busy airport n top pubs clubs n hotels ect ! _eordies welcome everyone ! even the moaners ! n SHAME ON YOU FOR BRINGING DOWN THE NORTHEAST.

I'm sozzling in the toon most weekends and most of this twattery is confined to The Gate or the Bigg Market i.e. large parts of Newcastle are normal.

I do think shows like this are a bit contrived and exaggerated to make them more 'car crash'.

However, the sort of cunts portrayed can be found in any city in the UK.

I think you insulted Geordies by saying 85% of them are like the idiots on the show. We are the same age and don't know anyone that acts like that. The funny thing is half of the embarrassing people on the show actual come from Sunderland

how do you come to that conclusion then, and my 1st post was light hearted the 85% i quoted was a rough guess meant in a light hearted way, after seeing what alot of _eordies go on like, witnessing it in pubs,clubs,restaurants,the metro centre and even the airport so its not totally unfounded although the figure is probs wrong, but as said before real _eordies take it as its meant to be a tv programme but yet get extremely offended at a bit banter.

i never called anyone any names or labelled anyone i simply made a light hearted statement (which i get told the forums are meant to be light hearted) yet someone feels the need to personally insult me (which i believe is against forum rules).

1 last thing if none of you have noticed its derby day on sunday up here, and banter flys backwards and forwards leading upto the derby just some take it far to serious, and its the same with these forums things always get taken to seriousley and taken totally out of context.

I am a Geordie and proud of it. I watched 10 mins of the program and turned over.

I have nieces and nephews who are sick and tired of people assuming they all act like that!

My niece works in a bar in The Big Market and sees loads of mouthy d*unk youngsters but to 'assume' that 85% are like it is so wrong.

You could go to any city on a weekend and see exactly the same behaviour and it isn't just youngsters either.

I think the op, lighthearted or not knew exactly what reaction they would get!! Naughty Op tut tut

the op did not assume 85% and neither did i, it was a figure thrown in by me to add to the light hearted banter about geordie shore on a thread on a supposedly light hearted forum but some people will always take things out of context, if it was the other way and the show was called mackem shore i would expect exactly the same banter from our beloved geordie neighbours.

I get to that by the fact that some of the people in it are now 27-28 that's 3-5 years younger than yourself plus some of them are from the same place as your self so just wondered if you acted the same way as them a few years back

if I May add Newcastle Being 1 of yes i said 1 of the Party Capitals in the UK, I think that on a w/end end the town is full of young ladies and young lads from outside the North East who have come to enjoys themselves so i think you need to retract your statement of 85% of Geordies are like that, for 1 I have never seen anyone acting like those ppl on Geordie shore in the Metro Centre, and as for Newcastle airport yes you may you ppl all excited about going away but to presume they are all Geordies I think you need to wise up, ppl from all over the North East Fly out of Newcastle airport not just Geordies, you obviously watch Geordie shore to know so much about. I think its you that must be embarrassed to admit to that

No they certainly do not. I think that show is probably the most vile and disgusting thing that has ever been on television. I like to think that I'm broad minded, but I cannot do anything other than cringe when I think about it and the people it features - bunch of dicks the lot of them

I have alot of friends from both Sunderland and Middlesbrough and we too enjoy a good old banter and wind eachother up all the time.

I will be honest and did think in this instance that it was a serious post, hence me defending Geordies

I agree with hesitating when posting anythingbut when I do the thread usually dies

One of the lads is a complete pratt, he's not from Newcastle at all, he's from barnard castle but on the show he told them he's from Middlesbrough. He doesn't go out in town at all even his hair dresser comes to his house, he's hated by every local person and to top it all he's a policemans son.
