We kind of made sure ours wouldn't be coming back when they left....by paying out for their mortgage deposits.
Was probably the kindest way to say that we are more than happy that they have decided to fly the nest.... |

We have been lucky in life, and just felt that we should give them a bit of a leg up. I think we had the 'Glory Years' and this generation may never see the like. |

Just remind him / her that as you are not related it's perfectly OK for you to use a tazer on them |

Broke my heart when my son left home at 16. I knew he would go, he went to house share with his dad as he wanted to go to the college there. I had to give him my blessing as i certainly didnt want any friction between us. He left just after he left school and looking back he was still a baby, although he was at his dads it was literally just a house share his dad didnt do anything for him.
Cant believe hes been gone 6 years, one of his class mates still lives with him mum and grandma and isnt even "allowed" to go to the pub or out. They treat him like hes about 10, i dont think its normal |

My eldest has been gone for years (yay), and my younger one is coming up 17 and at college. He informed me about a month ago that he plans to stay home until he's finished university ... no, he's not going away to uni, he's staying right here in Brum coz his college is also a uni and he wants to stay and do at least 3yrs at uni, meaning that I'm stuck with him until he's 22.
Don't get me wrong, most of the time he's charming and helpful but sometimes he turns into an obnoxious teenage lad (especially during weekends and college holidays - roll on next Monday when he goes back to college)
