Hello Everyone
Last Friday I renewed my contract and settled for the iPhone 5. The 7 day cooling-off period is in play and expires this week. As much as I am enjoying finding my way round the iPhone, something tells me that I will be returning it at the end of the 7 days and replacing it with the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Views and opinions from users of both phones would be most welcome |

I had this conundrum in February.
I have previously had an iPhone 4s which unfortunately was lost and I was using an old Samsung Tocco Lite.
I did my homework, read all the reviews etc and ended up buying the Galaxy SIII.
I was buying it and using it as pay as you go. The Galaxy was £120 cheaper than the iPhone which swung it tbh. |

Consider the new HTC one that came out just over a week ago. I just upgraded my s3 for it and it is better. Although the s3 is a brilliant phone too. But already a few months old.

I have a iPhone 5 and my girl has the galaxy 3 the iPhone is well better made in my opinion as the galaxy feels like a cheep piece of plastic and so fragile I would be scared of breaking it ! |

Having had a Samsung galaxy and now an s3 I would say go for the s3. Updates to phone have been great and can quite easily get any app for free if you know where to look without having to break the phone warranty to install unlike an iphone.
I would say of you could get the s4 you'd be better of but an s3 will do so much you will be pleased. |

"tra has the iphone and i have an s2. for me the Samsung pisses all over the iphone. the apple feels heavy and clunky to use."
The new 5 is loads lighter than s3 now.
I chose the 5 two weeks ago after having a 4 and I love them.. Almost swayed towards new Htc one but the quality of iPhone 5 is far superior to all the others. Love the apple products so will be investing in a iPad next week |

"To throw a spanner in the works - I was offered a Blackberry Z10 - I don't know anyone who has one yet....anyone have an opinion? "
Again felt very Toy like when looked it. As its their first foray into touchscreen phones I'd steer clear |

I've had all the iphones versions and aways feel dissapointed everytime I turn it on as its much the same as previous versions. the 5 i have now works great though and feels heavy. Itunes is just a nightmare to use and backing up numbers etc is a pain in the arse.
Everyone in the world has an iphone now so they have lost their appeal for me.
I am seriously thinking about trying an s4 when they come out. |

Mrs liddy has the 5 and I have the xperia t which is very very good phone, they have just released the xperia z which is an upgrade again, me personally would stay clear of Apple products over spiced over rated, complicated compared to android phones and you get more free apps on android, |

At the end of the day.. It's the end of the day!
Everyone has got the preferences it's the same with everything some may like it some wont.
Everything has it faults just like the phones. iPhones can't be that bad if they sell so many and apple continue to be so popular.
I love the iPhones and probably always will tried something else and it was crap, poor build quality, and poor systems. And I know plenty of people who have got samsungs and the things are massive. And they feel cheap. And with iPhones you can always sell them 2 years later for a decent amount of money. |

From a tech point of view the samsung has it by a long way - it's just got better internals so it's faster and more capable.
The iPhone is more desirable though as the premium offering.
Better build and much more highly finished product with a better operating system and superior support environment.
Truth is, the samsung is the poor mans Ferrari as it's cheap and cheerf whereas the iPhone is the Ferrari offering qdos and less value depreciation.
iPhone - every time... |

S3 all the way. I had a chance of getting the iphone awhile back. My partner at the time had an iphone and did consider it but soon stuck with my gut feeling.
I love my s3 and big screen.
Keeps me happy x |

Debs upgraded from an Iphone 4 to a Galaxy S3 and loves it, I liked hers so got one and I love it too. I just need to be more careful, I'm on my second screen already and I've only had it 6 months.
Thank god for Orange Care.
They are a great phone but I would recommend anyone to take out insurance. The glass (Gorilla Glass my arse) is very fragile.
My tablet has so called Gorilla Glass as well. That is cracked too |

S here. Samsung S3 all the way for me ... I absolutely love it. Looked at the iPhone and didn't think much of it tbh .. might have something to do with the fact that I hate apple products (except the eating and cooking varieties .. lol).
Totally agree that android is the way forward, far more flexible and adaptable than being tied to just one company's apps.
As far as being 'toy-like' and 'flimsy', I've had mine since it first hit the market last May and if you could see how badly I treat my phone and it's still intact, it's definitely not flimsy.

But the S3 doesn't infect your computer with the virus that is Itunes, and it has proper Bluetooth |
