Do you find it hard to distance yourself from people? To avoid getting hurt? Or because it’s for the best?

To start with yes but eventually i get my head around it and either create healthy boundaries or shut them out completely.

Same. Sometimes cutting them off completely is the easiest option.

No, very easy.

It’s something I’ve always been able to do if I want, with no problems. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing 😬

It depends on who it is. If it's an established relationship then I find it more difficult as I don't want there to be regrets down the line so I probably try to maintain as much of our existing relationship as much as I can, even if it's probably gone past the point of repair and I'll be honest, it can be exhausting

Best heal yourself of past trauma then you may have the tools to cope better.

Not really. My issue is letting people in.

No. It's incredibly easy for me to distance myself. I'm quite warm and friendly to everyone but it's rare it goes deeper than that.

When it does? It takes time. I can also quickly distance myself if something doesn't feel right (and I'm not stuck in their dicksand).

No. It takes an awful lot for me to distance myself but when I've made the decision I just do it. Usually there's no going back either

Um.

I don't think so.

I'm quite a pragmatic person. If I believe that the closeness that is developing is the wrong choice for me, I will step away.

Oftentimes I'm pretty open to seeing just what's there. I'm sometimes a little uncomfortable with how deep I'm getting with someone when it's more than I expected, because I know how much I value my independence and freedom, and when I feel that's potentially at risk I can get itchy feet. But I usually try to keep myself open to it unless something happens that means that connection has to be severed.

Depends on the relationship. If it’s someone I see a lot it’s harder.

I can do it. It’s hard at first and social media has made it a lot harder if you have mutual friends but after a few weeks I can almost forget about them.

No, but it's rather difficult for me to feel hurt by people, as I'm not easily offended or upset by peoples' behaviour.

I can easily shrug things off and think positively.

My long term partner's behaviour towards me at times is terrible, but it doesn't hurt me.

People have off days.

The thought of anyone treating you badly makes me sad
