Anyone got anything against truckers?

Seems if i go looking for a meet in a place where i regularly deliver to and stay for the night it seems very difficult to get a meet or even strike up a conversation as soon as you mention your a trucker.

Any other members of the transport fraternity have the same problem?

I think there is a certain stigma attached to truckers where by people think you have a hammer under your seat and tend to be a bit 'murdery' around women.

I'm not saying this is true but it is what it is yo.

I think trucker bros need some good PR. I would be happy to help in this if I were compensated for my time. (financially)

I know a trucker and he is the most charming well dressed gentleman I have ever met when he's not at work, when he's in work he's one of the boys, it's not the job it's the person that matters I think. But saying that ur truck maybe shouldn't be classed as accommodation, maybe mention it in ur profile text as turning up at a meets house in a 10 wheeler might be a little obvious

Been there done that, now a days I prefer a proper bed and shower facilites, also space and time. 8 hours overnight stops somewhere in a truck stop or lay by no longer appeal to me

On a serious note to this thread I think some people are put off because they have the wrong impression that truckers who have been in a cab all day have not had the facilities to wash etc!

I've been in many a cab with a trucker n usually they have washed etc - that said there have also been occasions where I have had to make an hasty exit due to whiffs of unpleasant body odours

This is interesting to us as sam quite likes the idea of meeting a trucker

Although there is a stigma attached im sure there are plenty that are well mannered , polite etc. I dont think its particularly fair to play them down unless you have had a bad experience yourself.

Its definitely something on our to do list

Well me and my partner are truckers and there's no betteer thrill than having sex in the lorry

the suspention does wounders, also were both extremly clean and most truck stops have showering facilities I'd much rather have sex in the lorry where you can close the curtains and have a private area than sat in an open space being watched by loads of random people but yet this seems more acceptable because its called dogging WTF but hay ho each to there own

yes your right most Truck Stops have all the facilities for truckers needs, however what about those that choose not to use Truck Stops wonder what they use as facilities
