In prolonged snogging with someone who shaves their face and has grown-in stubble, do you experience stubble rash?
What, if anything, have you found calms your irritated skin/lips?

Well, there isn’t a beard in this case. Just a man who shaves in the morning and three hours later has stubble. He’s tried hot towel shaving, facials before shaving, all sorts of different shaving tools to no avail. Hence my quest to solve this for myself. |

If it's a regular thing every time and they haven't thought to alter their shaving routine at all that seems pretty inconsiderate.
I usually use cocoa butter to calm it down on the odd occasions it happens to me. I have really sensitive skin so there's not much I can use on it and it doesn't take much to irritate it, but thankfully my partners tend towards the considerate and take care to try and avoid causing the issue if they're aware it's happened previously 💜 |

Your face will acclimatise!
I've had this recently, and I had it when I first started dating my ex husband. Plenty of moisturiser helped, but eventually I think the skin on your face toughens up and gets used to their face. |

I’m laughing because I’ve only mentioned the face irritation but there’s more. I’ve told myself persevere, the outcome is worth it. 😉
The face irritation is more obvious as I’m walking about with redness and irritation that makeup isn’t covering up. |

He isn’t shaving for me.
I just Googled him to see if he’s ever had a beard, and see over the last two decades he’s been beard free. It’s a moot point as I’m not giving him advice he’s not asked for about his facial hair, but I was curious. |

Bella, I know that John majors stubble also grew quickly, he used to shave twice a day.
It might be easier if he uses a fresh blade each time, that will give a closer shave, also if he shaves against the grain will lead to even closer shave. I'm guessing he's got the same problem downstairs.

I am.
The parts of my facial hair that comes through at different directions creates rough patches. Using sandpaper on those areas smoothed mine out when I had to be clean shaven on a daily basis. The Soft Goat is hypoallergenic, bought mine from Amazon.

This is what I’m experiencing. It’s day six now and I look like I’ve had a terrible sunburn but only around my mouth. The redness, swollen edges of lips has passed. The peeling hasn’t. |

Tbh I have no idea why he is different... But the peeling face was a full on beard ffs! Another guy I used to see would shave when we got to his n I would still end up looking like I had spent the day in the sun wearing cooking oil... Does my head in! |

Okay, so this guy doesn’t shave his own face. He’s a bit weird. He has someone in to shave his face. They, the professional, has tried all sorts. A warm towel, steam before shaving, different shaving creams/foams/lotions, over five days he tried a different thing each day, and some days twice because if we were going out he’d have to shave again in the evening.
As I’m typing this, I’m wondering if maybe his excessive shaving is to blame. 💡 |

I call him a professional. I don’t know if he has credentials. I mean he did have a cut on his temple the other day after a shave.
He says I’m the only one with such sensitive skin that has reacted to his stubble. I doubt that. I told him others are just doing the polite British thing and keeping their mouths shut about the irritation Not being British myself, I’m not bothered with moaning about the problem he’s causing my skin. If he doesn’t like me moaning about it, he can jog on. |

Well I don't think needing too shave twice a day for smoothness is that uncommon, some men's facial hair grows faster than others, so maybe he just needs to build in an extra session to his days when he's seeing you.
I can see enjoying having a daily shave by someone else. I don't see why he can't also shave again for your benefit. |

I have a similar stubble, I use beard hair softener. The one I use us raspberry and smells delicious, must be used daily to soften to root, unfortunately though for really prolonged sessions unless it's regular a rash is inevitable!! |

Just to add to A’s post.
Yes I need to sometimes shave twice to maintain a smooth face. Sharpness of the blade is key for me, brand of shave gel, razor etc irrelevant. Conditioner works well as does plain old fashioned soap.
Ladies may also like to consider this too,
