"I used to have some nice verifications from over the years, but as each person has deleted their account the veris' have also gone 😭
Seems unfair especially as verification summary doesn't change "
I lost all mine when I originally removed my profile, came back to nothing |

Especially annoying as people will start ignoring you thinking you had no veris after being on here for years so must automatically be a weirdo |

I disagree.
Many people leave because they don't want anything more to do with the site or the lifestyle so it's only right that their verifications should go with them.
A profile displaying lots of verifications from people who are no longer on site seems a little pointless for anyone wishing to do their due diligence and follow the verification trail.
That would just lead to lots of dead ends. |

I think if a person decides to leave the site for whatever reason, it’s because they don’t want to leave a trace, and that includes verifications. I think it’s fair they’re vanish if the person leaves. |

This is correct. Someone could have 5 verifications all from what were fake profiles. |

I have left the site numerous times, so my verifications will have gone for those I've met, as have theirs for my previous incarnations. However the memories are still there. |

I feel your pain. I've lost about 3 in the last month. Am I breaking them?
I feel that I have to keep going out there and meet new people to make up! |

Interesting point. Do people actually do the due diligence before a meet? Contact previous meets to check on the person in question?
Sounds like a thread starter that. |

Contact them? Fuck no.
Look at them? Yes.
Because if I see veris from clubs, event organisers, group socials and perhaps even people I know or who I know of and am confident that they're reliable site members, then it counts for a lot more than one or two from bland, brief or hidden profiles.
When people go it's right that veris they left go with them. |

I agree.vi had some absolute classic veris that are now reduced to mere stats. Seems harsh and pointless to delete them when the author leaves, like another said, why not just change the username to UNLOS?
The people deserve to know how awesome I am! |

Yes lots of people do but it's not something I agree with.
Some will argue that it's a safety issue. I would say it's a nosey as fuck issue.
Due diligence doesn't require direct contact. It just requires common sense and following the trail.

If someone has gone UNLOS there's not much point to displaying the veri anymore, so I wouldn't see the point in keeping it with "UNLOS" stamped all over it.
I think veris are mostly for the benefit of the recipient, a little ego boost or momento of a fond memory. I disappear and come back frequently, so if there's a veri from someone particularly special to me I screenshot it before I go. I also give a heads-up to my closest fab friends before I vanish in case they want to do the same. |

That's why your summary doesn't change, if you show it people can see how many veris you have and when the most recent one was. |

I think the onus is on each of us to cultivate the profile and verifications that suits us and what we want from the site.
New users manage to get first verifications, so older users can have the same challenge, to regain verifications that replenish your wares |
