The old sycamore

The iconic sycamore standing alone on Hadrians Wall was cut down now it looks like it is recovering.

It's back 8 times over. I would like to see the 8 suckers entwined over the old stump to from a new bit of wood.

I agree that would be quite fitting - I have seen the sycamore gap when it was a proud standing tree and it was quite a sight to be hold

Unfortunately it will still take a long time to recover, but glad there is hope that it will. 🤞🏼

It's lovely that it's strong enough to have sprouted back. Let's hope that its new form grows and recovers some of its vitality and spirit
