We had an argument...

I'm sat at a church hall. In an empty room. There's a GA meeting going on that I'm not privy to because it's not for people like me. Next week will be. Significant others who are affected.

I had an argument with the person who is supposed to be there. Yes, she's been forced to go, by me. Over £20,000 later, some of which is illegal ... and I can't imagine there's ever going to be an argument over whether she needs to go.

And yet, another argument, another issue. I struggle to see the disease bit of it. She's asked for more money to pay off a friend, I told her no, because I've already paid that friend off to the tune of £200 and I asked her to be honest about everything and so another £500 doesn't make sense. I told her to register to gamban and GamStop and both have not happened because "she still has £2500 sitting in an account she can't access yet..."

My fuse is so short. She said she's at breaking point and wanted to leave if I continue forcing her to face these issues. Whilst driving 50 mph down an A road, she took of her seatbelt and opened the door.

And I be slammed the brakes just enough to ... Yeah. I'm not happy with my reaction. But I've had enough. I hate this so much.

Oh, and by saying "I had an argument" I mean she's been having the arguments. I'm quite happy to remain silent and see her through this. But she's eating away at me again and again.

You continue to enable her behaviour or you don't that's the stark choice that faces you.

I recognise the lies and fudging of facts

She took her seatbelt off and opened the door at 50mph. What would you have him do?

OP. I’ve been where you are now. I get you’re at breaking point. There is only so much support you can give someone you love if they won’t help themselves. Please please for your own sake. Take a step back. It may feel cathartic posting here but please get some help FOR YOU. Always happy to support if you need it. But right now the person that needs support is you. I’m afraid your loved one will only do what they want to. It’s their choice and it doesn’t have any reflection on you as a person. Ever.

Sending hugs and my DMs are open if you need a listening ear ♥️
