What I meant is that it doesn’t seem to have a ‘section’, it’s just happening on the bridge and they flick to it occasionally.

I can see parts of this opening ceremony being recreated like having the athletes paraded up the river thanes before they enter the Arena.
I remember an old documentary about 2012 and the Chinese organiser committee adviced Londonn not too copy but to highlight what you do best. GB could not spend 1billion on an opening ceremony but she took inspo and detailed britain. |

I’ve thought it’s been quite good - enjoyed it and loved the effects of the horse on the water.
Loved the Euro Trash feel to it.
A lot of every ceremony is wanky.
It just needs Jean Michael Jarre and I’m done

I've liked a few bits but they dragged on too long. It, for me, is slow paced and sparce, right now they are running with the flame through the Louvre, I get it is pissing it down and their security scare earlier, but where are the people. |

I enjoyed it. I love that it was set out over the city. I loved the "blood" over the Seine. And the horse. And the 100yr old French Olympian - how cute! And the cauldron. Wow!
Even Celine, who I'm not a fan of, was breathtaking. |

The piano on fire sas interesting - assume it was a voice recording rather thsn being sung live?
The mechanical horse was excellent - they could have made it even by using jets of water to simulate it running on water
I went to bed so need to find a highlight program with the cauldron! |

We started watching it, it was a bit boring for us, we saw the Jamaican team and then went on to tell my stepson about the Jamaican bobsled team and he was like "what" so we just had to put cook runnings on obviously 😂.
We managed to see the end and see the queen that is Celine Dion. |

Good idea, perhaps overly ambitious, poorly executed in parts, disjointed, no regard for weather vagaries.....but the automatron horse, Eiffel tower light show and cauldron balloon looked good. Shame they hoisted the Olympic flag upside down.

Your comment reminded me of the time I was in Paris and Cool Runnings was the massive hit film of the time. So the Paris cinema I walked past were also showing it. But... as they often do around the world... they'd changed its title from "Cool Runnings" to - the way more superior - one of "Rasta Rocket" |

I thought it was a confused mess. Some highlights including Lady GaGa and Celine Dion, plus the Eiffel Tower lights were impressive and the balloon cauldron was great. But not a patch on London 2012. |
