"I've had a guy wanting me to be my feeder as I'm not big enough. Wants me as a SSBBW
Needless to say I declined politely, I'm trying to shift weight, not gain it.
He even offered to pay me! " yes its all about control ....... them having it over you and so you end up not even moving out of the house. |

I remember a documentary on Feeders a few years back and was amazed. There was a woman who was so big that they hoisted her in the air and hosed her down to clean her. Made me feel sad for both the Feeder and the Feedee... deep seated psychological issues on both sides methinks.

We have to order/ hire bariatric equipment to be able to care for them, cost an absolute fortune. |

There are slso gainers - guys and girls who WANT to be bigger.
My best mate started to see someone who was already a big lad but wanted to be bigger.
He had set himself a goal of being a minimum of 30 stone.
He worked for the NHS in Pshychiatric care funnily enough !
I know it scared my mate a lot and that was why he ended it, because he couldn't sit back and watch someone willingly get bigger and bigger. |

It's very easy to get into bad habits. What I don't get is at some point you have to go and by new clothes. When people say they didn't realise how big they were, were they ignoring the sizes they were buying? |

that, to me, is the opposite end of the scale to anorexia/bulimia. All eating disorders and how you see/are happy within yourself.
Since Christmas I have gone from a size 10/12 down to a 4/6... Am I happy with that?? NO!!
Have family/friends constantly telling me I look crap and need to put weight on.
Guess what I am saying is find out the background before associating labels. Not all is at appears to be. |

I didn't associate any labels, I simply said my friend couldn't handle watching someone do that to themselves.
And yes, I agree with your initial comment. |

I teeter on the edge of being a feeder I think
I love holding dinner parties and always have loads of food & wine in, for when people pop over for coffee etc... Although I blame it on my Spanish roots/relatives and growing up with lunch merging into dinner and lasting until the early hours |

"Back in hospital again. What I want to know is who keeps bringing her the food?

How much strain on the NHS...Hmmm
Probably about the same as those with AIDS. drug addicts, smokers, drinkers, sportsmen, kids falling off bikes, pregnant women, anorexics. attempted suicides, at fault car accidents casualties ..not forgetting those who havent paid into the kitty like immigrants foreigners and so on
.....blah blah blah in fact anyone who has a choice not to do something or get themselves in a particular position but does- in fact shes obviously got some mental problems leading to her weight so needs help as much as anyone and probably more worthy than a lot of users of the NHS
.
Once you start singling people out as not worthy of treatment you may as well build them a camp to keep them in while we work out a way to get rid of them..........Oh thats already been tried |

Feeders will be few and far between, people who over eat and continue to do so to the extreme, will be more prevalent. sadly their self esteem may diminish as their weight increases. |

Many feeders suffer from attached psychological problems regarding their eating habits, so to assume that they all don't want help is wrong.
A strain on the NHS?....no more than any others who have various legal addictions. |

I totally agree with you on this. It annoys the hell out of me how people who over eat and become obese are only ever seen as fat and lazy as opposed to people who under eat become anorexic and have an eating disorder |

There's an Australian horror film called feeder which is related to this subject. It delves into this world in a very dark way... And I would suggest people watch it (if not easily offended) |

Oh it's sounds so romantic. I do hope there's a few good musical numbers in it like Hello Dolly or Moulin Rouge. Can't beat a good chick flick with some good tunes & a bucket of popcorn. |

My heart goes out to the poor girl.
There are many reasons for overeating - it can be a comfort thing, to deal with many other traumas.
I was an over-eater, and at my heaviest was 27 stone. That was just over 3 years ago, through diet and exercise I'm now down to about 10stone-ish, and would still like to lose a little more, and tone up more.
I overate because I was desperately unhappy. I left my husband, and made some changes.
When I was bigger I was definitely treated differently - as a lazy slob, and less of a person. |

Actually they have done very extensive studies about what makes people obese. It's not just an eating disorder. Sometimes it is to do with brain chemistry. For example, an experiment was done with morbidly obese people where they put them in a CAT scanner and offered them their favourite foods. Each time they did this the addiction centres of the brain lit up. They had only seen this before in drug addicts. So they concluded that food can become an addiction. Then there is the centre of the brain which tells the body that it is full - if this does not work then that person feels ravenously hungry all the time. They never feel full no matter how much they eat. People with Prader-Willi (sp) syndrome suffer from this. |
