Tom was out in his motor car today and came across two cyclists riding two a breast with no consideration for cars on the road. They cock a snoot at other road users and put two fingers up to faster moving traffic. These buggers are inconsiderate road users |

I generally just put one finger up to faster moving traffic... it's easier.. |

Here we go again Tom with the anti cyclists thread.
Seriously how long did it hold you up waiting to pass?
A few seconds and minute at the most, what about pedestrians and horses are they equally not allowed to use the road?
I mean it's not like there's not enough roads for everyone to use is it, hardly a shortage!! |

"Tom should be aware cyclists are allowed to ride two abreast. "
Tom should be aware the motoring agencies approve of cyclists riding two abreast, it halves the distance required to make a safe overtake.

Tom,
Why aren’t you using the motorway? It’s been built specifically for motor vehicle users and bicycles aren’t allowed on there.
It costs huge amounts of tax payers money for these specialist roads and you cock a snook at authority by not using them! You bugger!!!!
Stick to your motorway Tom, that’s what it’s there for!!!

Given the law says you have to give cyclists, horse riders and other road user a minimum of 1,5m passing space, you would in anyway have to cross the midline of most roads to pass
Your time exposed to danger is doubled when the other road users are in line not abreast.
Do you complain as much about slow moving farm machinery?

Tom seems to have a particular hardon for cyclists. |

We get them three a breast here Tom. My blood pressure goes up when I see them, having a natter amongst themselves or racing each other, pretending they’re in the Tour De France.
Meanwhile me and 30 other vehicles are waiting behind for a safe bit of road to overtake the sods. And when you find that bit of Road you’re scuppered by …….. potholes!

Can I ask a genuine question?
How long do you realistically get held up by them? A few seconds? A couple of minutes? 10 minutes? 20 minutes?
I see these perpetual arguments from both sides, as a road cyclist, and a driver.
Cyclist me says I’ll ride however I deem it necessary to refrain from becoming a bloody smear on the road. I’ll pull in where’s it’s safe and convenient for me to do so.
Car drive me says do I get held up by an unreasonably amount of time? Not really no. If I know I have to frequent a road that’s prone to use by cyclists. I’ll simply allow more journey time.

Well said sir.
It’s not unique to cyclists, idiot drivers wil be idiot drivers, dangerously overtaking to end up at traffic lights exactly 1 car ahead. |
