Marquez, it will be interesting,,good in qualifying, but preserving tyres and a Lorenzo and Rossi breathing down yer neck may be make for a diffrent race, hoping so. |

He new ZX10 is sublime, they have made the engine and handling more manageable as opposed to the older versions which were monsters. I rode a friends last summer and were I 10 years younger I would be thinking of getting one, sadly old age means I need something a little more comfortable, a ZZR1400, Buse or a big adventure bike |

RSV4 is tiny once you sit on it! If your over 5' 10" you're never going to be comfortable on it...remember it made Biaggi look normal size in WSBK! |

Cal has done brilliantly in practice and the new qualifying...but we have seen that before! Hope he can translate it into race performances like the end of last year! Could be the most competitive season for a few years, cannot wait! |

"but whos the new commentator has sexi suzies gone to formula 1 "
Is it not the same commentators as last year with the bloke who did the grid walks doing the anchor?
Eurosport commentators much better I think, fed up with Parish and his 'I once raced Barry Sheen' stories.

They still are
mines not exactly standard so a bit quicker than they used to be and have sorted the suspension
if you look on youtube theres quite a few videos of the old pro am racing on lc's, now that was proper racing |

"And whats Dovi doing on that Ducati, can he do what Rossi couldn,t!!!"
different bikes suit different riders styles. Look at foggy on a ducati he rode the wheels of it, on the honda he never looked as comfy on the thing. |

"used to have an R6 but decided to go old skool
now have a Kenny Roberts RD350LC
some pics on my profile of me on track at donnington last year.
"
Used to have a Beckett tuned RD 400, bored out to 420cc, that would beat an RD 500LC. I finally found the right gearing combination, shocks, breaks & tyres that gave most 750's a run for their money as well |

So who enjoyed the new 'mad dash' qualifying then?
I thought it was fun to see, seemed like every lap had to count rather than the 50 minutes of touring round then 21 bikes trying to set a lap all at once in the final 10 under the previous system. |

What does everyone think Yamahas approach will be if Cal constantly out performs Rossi? Do you think they will offer Tech 3 a factory bike or release new updated parts quicker for his old bike. Or do you think they will hold back on new updated parts to keep Rossi as the number 2 Yamaha rider.
Personally I think Cal will get more factory support when it becomes clear his performance more than deserves it, this will be followed by a full factory ride with Yamaha next season. I think this will be Rossi's last season |

I'm a bit sad he didn't get the factory seat this year. I thought his performances towards the back end of last season warranted it but obviously the deal with Vale' had already been done.
They could be radical and do a Honda of the past and have 3 bikes unless that's not allowed anymore? I'm not up to speed on rules regarding that. |

Rossi has signed a 2 year contract with Yamaha so he is there until at least the end of 2014.
Cal was never going to get a factory ride this year as he wasn't consistent enough last year, I do think he is first in line for the factory ride if Rossi leaves at the end of his contract and he deserves it too.

"If Rossi isn't competitive this year, do you think he'll stick around for the 2nd? "
Yeah I do. He has to get used to that bike again, he needs to allow time for that.
I don't think he will be back to the Rossi of old until half way through the season. He said he went back to yamaha to win the championship and realistically I don't think he can do that this year. Next year will be his year imo x |

The one thing I hope for above all is that all the championship contenders, of which there could be as many as 5 (both Honda and Yamaha boys +Cal) stay fit with no injuries and we have a ding ding title battle. |

Would be nice to see. I'd like to see the rookies do well, Marquez especially. I think he will out ride Pedrosa this season. And I'd like Dovi to do well on the Ducati, I thought he was the stand out rider in quali yesterday x |

As much as I have loved Rossi, I think he no longer has the killer mental attitude that saw him crush anyone who challenged him (he completely broke Gibernau). I also think age is against him.
The only reason he got the Yamaha ride again is because he brings sponsorship and he sells bikes
Personally I think Rossi will retire at the end of the season and settle down in the country with his "friend" and constant companion Alessio |

I'm not sure his age is against him, he isn't the oldest rider out there.
I do think his mental attitude has changed but I think he is determined to go out on a high, might not be this year but maybe next. Either way I hope he does better than he has the last 2 years with Ducati, would be nice to see a few more podiums out of him this year. X

Rossi is carrying some psychological demons personally. I've been watching him all test season and that bin it or win it attitude has gone.
He used to be mentally the one to beat, even when not winning. But that hasn't been there for a long time.
But........ I have seen little glimpses of the old Rossi there. So as a die hard Rossi fan that won't swap till he is no longer racing. He has my support 110%. |

Watched it on BBC as had to see it 'Live' for the first race of the season...and wish I hadn't because of the idiots on commentary. BBC always end up with the dross that no commercial TV companies want!
Eurosport delayed live from now on...millions times better and more enthusiastic commentary!
On a brighter note...fantastic race from Cal taking it to the Honda twins until he went wide...and does Rossi still have the heart and drive...oooooh yes! |

actually watched the moto 2 race on eurosport and the gp race on BBC and you can tell the difference hands down...
eurosport commentary by a mile....
the only way I can describe it is when it comes round to the grand tours in cycling....watching the coverage on eurosport as opposed to watching it on sky/itv
most may watch the latter... but the hardcore fans will watch the former... p.s eurosport's cycling coverage by a mile! |

The Doctor is back in the house, that was fantastic. The young lad on the Honda, who's just 20, and managed to pass Rossi and finished third, is the next Rossi, he was blinding. Moto GP is the best to watch.

I almost felt sorry for Lorenzo. All you could hear when the got into the winners area was the crowd shouting Rossi. He may have won the race, but it was Rossi's day and oh my god I was so so happy. |

Haha that made me laugh! Was looking forward to the noise for Rossi and Lorenzo's face when they went on the podium...but BBC decided I didn't need to see that bit - thanks.
Anyway, they are all happy and friendly now...right up until the day Rossi beats him again! Then it will be dodge the teddy bears all over again |
