Yes no doubt spoilt a holiday for me once, got bitten on the ankle the bottom of my leg got swollen up and I could hardly walk, it then continued to itch for weeks afterwards.

And rub on the infected area rib wort is excellent for a natural antihistamine better than dockleaves by miles !

They are buggers … and you feel them bite … but it’s tooooo late by then!

I always react badly and it always swells up and goes red. I find a topical antihistamine always helps.

I got bit on the leg once it sucked back of my leg thought I was sweating as hot but was blood down my leg

I’m on my third horsefly bite within a month. Got me last night and my arm’s swollen up like a burning hot red balloon already. I have to wait 48 hours before the pharmacist will give me antibiotics for it.

F me I had a horse fly bite I still remember the pain and heat that was coming off my wrist. It got to a point that I couldn’t bend my wrist and it was so swollen

The itching and heat did me in

I had to be on antibiotics for it to stop. I get afraid of wearing t shirts and keep my arms fully covered

Don’t get me started! They are the bane of my life.

I seem to attract them. One Summer I had 6 bites all over me and I looked like an extra from a Hammer Horror film.

Lemon body spray from Lush saved the day (and my legs).

I got bitten on the back of my hand on a photo walk a couple of years back, and by they time I got to my car, my hand was so swollen, I could barely change gear when driving home. F*cking agony.
