Can we drop him from The Team?

Brings nothing to the game. Played better without him.

Doesn't have the leg's to run.

Has the Spursey mentally

I believe he touched the ball twice in 180 minutes. Not exactly world class. He looks about a yard off the pace all the time now.

"I believe he touched the ball twice in 180 minutes. "

Hard for him to touch the ball in the final 30 minutes when he was off the pitch

Southgate has ruined that England side. Should be dominating tournaments with the talent he has, but continues to play a system and style that doesn't suit his best players. Can't say drop Kane when he scored 40 odd goals for Bayern this year.

Still a major role for him to play in the squad, no longer an automatic starter in the first team (and I have been saying that for several months now). He plays far too deep; that worked at S****, where he had Son playing off him, whereas England do not have anyone playing that Son role.

Decent bloke and he deserves that any conversation around him is respectfully about his current contribution to the England team. I would still love to have him at our place.

Can't compare this to the squad he inherited 8 years ago. Completely different players. Only 2 still in the team that started last night was walker and stones. Should be doing alot better IMO

Harry Kane has scored more tournament goals since 2018 than Mbappe and Ronaldo he is Englands top goalscorer and again scored 3 goals in this tournament. The way I see it is to get the best out of him play the way Spurs & Bayern Munich play when he is in the team which is fast wingers on either side of him and look to attack from the start not when you go behind.Saka on the right , Gordon on the left are the two wingers Kane centre forward in a 4 3 3 formation not 3 4 2 1 where Saka is been asked to play right wing back

I mean he is an old boy now, I can't even begin to fib that I know much about football but isn't 32 (I think that's how old he is) pushing it in terms of professional football player? (Again I don't know) From what I saw he didn't really do much..apart from the goals obvs!

In my opinion he didn’t really contribute anything to the game. It would have been a difficult decision to leave him out from the start of the game but I really think it would have been a different outcome to the game if he had been left on the bench

No. 32 is not old in football terms, particularly for a goal scorer.

German football is a step down from the PL which is why Kane was so successful in his first season; I’d be amazed if he keeps his stats that high from here on out.

He was clearly injured, shouldn’t have played at all other than a substitute; you’ve got to feel for Tony, Watkins et al. sitting on the bench knowing it’s pure politics that stops them playing!

Southgate is done, was done just before Jude’s wonder goal, the rest of the tournament was always a case of “when” and not “if”.

I don’t think it’s a case of him being too old. I think it’s more a case that he’s no longer a fit for the way England would like to be playing. He’s an old fashioned centre forward, that’s kinda outdated in modern European football.

Politics?

Southgate picked his captain, England’s record goal scorer, and top scorer in the tournament. This wasn’t some random “political” pick

Top scorer? The boot was a six way split!

It doesn’t matter what you “were”, it’s what you “are” and he clearly wasn’t fit, he barely touched the ball for the entire tournament!

We lost to a better team and poor management; it’s that simple, it wasn’t Kane’s fault, he shouldn’t have been allowed to play such a pivotal role.

Kane is past it now. He did hardly anything of note all tournament, wandered around aimlessly most of the time. When he went off the team improved each time but Southgate keeps picking him simply because of what he's been capable of in the past, those days are gone now and its time for Kane to go as well.

I think he was unfit towards the end of the season and probably was only at about 70%. I still think he has a lot of give but I also think that the system was set up for him to succeed. It's clear he doesn't want to just stay in the box so if he drops deep, he needs runners as the wingers like Saka or Gordon or Rashford. Foden is not that type of winger so the attack looks disjointed as a result.

Two goals from open play. One penalty. Two goals from open play across 7 games in the tournament isn't exactly prolific.

(Yes, I know he's England's top scorer overall in history).
