Categorise yourself - I’m a SSBBW, MILF/Cougar sub .
Is that a helpful shorthand to show people what I look like and what I’m into, or is it degrading and objectifying of a beautiful and unique human being![](/icons/s/3/valentine.gif) ![](/icons/s/2/angel.gif) ![](/icons/s/2/poppy.gif) |

I had to look up what SSBBW was.
I think slapping things and people into boxes and affixing labels can be limiting.

Yeah I agree, it robs people of their individuality. But at the same time, are most people on Fab concerned about learning the individual nuance of each person they meet ? |

I myself am a regular guy with dom side and looking for a busty sub to enjoy time with."
See, category pointers can be really helpful in filtering the field and finding potential matches |

Yeah they would be help but when I say I have a dom side I’m not talking about hanging women from the ceiling by their clits and all that extreme stuff, I just like to take control, so searching by criteria doesn’t really work as not everyone is looking for the same level. |

Probably not which is why we don't really meet people from fab. We use it to find events to meet people at.
But if I'm gonna be all "What's in the box!?!" then I'm probably a bisexual milf switch.

Some people may be keen to learn the individual nuances of each person they meet. Others just want a hole to fill and don’t fuss about much more. There’s more types in between the two extremes too. There’s all types.
Some people may be seeking someone solely based on a label and that suits them.
If it makes you happy, then do it by all means. |

I am. I would rather have their own description of where they are and what they are looking for, than a label. |

I think labels help cut to the chase. Ive joined groups on fetish sites for BBWs and cougars as they contain those looking for my body type and age range. However its for me to label myself. Often I get people messaging me calling me a milf or cougar who don't know me. |

It's a hard one. What point does one body type become another?
I'm very athletic, but I think I look very average so call myself so.
I generally ignore those labels. I just see a person, whatever the shape or size. If I like them I like them! |

Honestly, I could say I'm x, y and z but fork that. Shorthand can be great to explain certain things quickly but it doesn't really do me justice."
Yeah quick labels can be good to start from but I guess it’s only once you speak to someone and get more in depth that you can truly understand |

That’s a really good point, people use fab for different functions in their life. Looking for friends these porn categorisations have no benefit |

Now that’s how to make life interesting! That, or get really overtired when you’re constantly having to refresh your profile "
Been there!
I’m 100% switch in terms of dynamics so it’s the simplest shortcut to explain as it gets. |

Labels certainly aren’t the be all and end all. I think they can be a useful starting point, but as you rightly point out it takes away all subtlety and is a very blunt tool |

Absolutely, the body characterisations on fab for example aren’t very descriptive BUT I can imagine a lot of people would be put off joining if they have to click a term that describes their body in medicalised jargon |

Yes I totally understand that. You’re a person in your own right, you don’t need to be broken down into convenient definitions. I have a bit of that myself, I have no issue with someone being initially attracted to me because I’m an older woman, for eg, but I wouldn’t want that to be the only reason |

They're categories you have chosen for yourself and own to help looking for people you want to meet. In a way, similar to female looking to meet male. When others apply labels and attempt to tell you what you are; that's an entirely different matter.
I don't think they objectify or degrade, just a small pointer saying what you, a beautiful, unique and intelligent being wants. |

It's definitely an awkward one if you find it hard to be self descriptive. Or very self conscious to start with. |

I have always been a naturally dominant person so I guess it goes hand in hand with my desire of cougars in this particular kink. |
