Are you also going to watch the game tonight? It is kick of 8pm, what is your prediction? I reckon that england will win with 1-0 |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
I shall be watching from behind the sofa Shag.
I’m not sure about predicting any score, it seems impossible with this England side at the moment. I rather suspect that England will be found out this evening and the Netherlands will sneak this one by 2-1 after extra time. |

Not going to watch it but i think the Dutch win this in normal time. Englands best chance is if it goes to extra time or penalties. |

Boring start. Netherlands to score around 30.
England to be amazing for 20 mins, get 2 back by 60 mins, then bore/scare the shit out of us for the last 30 mins .
2-1 |

The Dutch have been just as poor as England on occasion although they’ve played better football for the most part which hasn’t been hard for many sides at the tournament. Hopefully Gareth doesn’t park the bus if we go 1-0 up because I can see us losing if we do but I reckon 2-1 England after extra time |

We are playing a team that scored 2 goals in the first 90 mins , that’s not how we play so things don’t look good for us |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
It all depends on which England team turns up.
We typically play to the level of our opposition, so I’ll be hopeful and say an England win ???? |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
Difficult to say.
I can’t see it being a great game - perhaps we can nick a goal. ?
Spain will finish us off if the Dutch don’t! |

Yes I'll be watching, I've been lucky enough not to be working for any of their games, I was meant to be going to a WI meeting but I let them know I couldn't make it "as I didn't want to jinx the team".

Since the knockout games started the Netherlands have improved their performance on the pitch whilst England performances have been pretty similar in the group games as well as the knockout stages. With that in mind I think the Netherlands will win 2-1 |

1-1 after 90 mins still a draw after extra time and England lose on penalties.

Captain armbands can be shared or reallocated. If El Capitán is injured or knackered or out of form, it might require a rethink. Southgate left a bunch of players out of the squad entirely, who many would have assumed would be picked, no matter what.
Yes, Kane smashed in a pen tonight, but 5 pens went in during that shootout and Kane wasn't involved. Any other player could have scored that tonight. |

I just think that younger players who are fitter and better able to go the full match, should get a look in. I think the same when talking about CR7 and some of the other players of the same era, at this tournament. They might not be fit for the next one, when the OAPs are doing crisp ads or something. |

"In previous tournaments, yes I get it. He just seems to have been off this whole tournament.
He's also scored more goals from penalties than any other England player
He has been, but if he can score a winner in extra time, he can score late on which is why it was brave sub by Southgate which was my initial point
I just think that younger players who are fitter and better able to go the full match, should get a look in. I think the same when talking about CR7 and some of the other players of the same era, at this tournament. They might not be fit for the next one, when the OAPs are doing crisp ads or something. "
Experience counts for a lot in tournaments though. If your leading goal scorer, captain and experienced player is fit, he starts and he plays. Ollie Watkins did brilliantly when he came off the bench but it doesn't mean he starts the final. |

Da Iawn LLoegr. Well done England.
Just just just please don’t win, you lot will be intolerable for another half century at least
We will win. And we will be intolerable "

Well fuck me. I honestly didn’t see that one coming. Spain will take us apart obviously, but for now I’m d*unk and enjoying life.
