Are you also going to watch the game tonight? It is kick of 8pm, what is your prediction? I reckon that england will win with 1-0

I shall be watching from behind the sofa Shag.

I’m not sure about predicting any score, it seems impossible with this England side at the moment. I rather suspect that England will be found out this evening and the Netherlands will sneak this one by 2-1 after extra time.

Who knows. We have looked mediocre so far and in a different league compared to teams such as France or Spain.

Not going to watch it but i think the Dutch win this in normal time. Englands best chance is if it goes to extra time or penalties.

The Dutch have been just as poor as England on occasion although they’ve played better football for the most part which hasn’t been hard for many sides at the tournament. Hopefully Gareth doesn’t park the bus if we go 1-0 up because I can see us losing if we do but I reckon 2-1 England after extra time

He's also England captain and has come up with important goals before."

Captain armbands can be shared or reallocated. If El Capitán is injured or knackered or out of form, it might require a rethink. Southgate left a bunch of players out of the squad entirely, who many would have assumed would be picked, no matter what.

Yes, Kane smashed in a pen tonight, but 5 pens went in during that shootout and Kane wasn't involved. Any other player could have scored that tonight.

"When are we knighting Gareth Southgate?

When he makes the right team choice to let our players win a game early and makes substitutions early enough so that we don’t poop out pants in the last few minutes? "

Would of Knighted him 4 years ago if Kane didn't hit the space station in a shoot out

Lovely striker's goal that from Watkins.

Foden played well. England looked a different team tonight.

"I have to give it to Southgate there. Fair play for taking Kane off for Watkins. It's never easy taking your captain off but we needed that energy coming on

Kane hasn't been fit all tournament. Other players played instead of him might have created better earlier matches, more goals, less stress. Who knows?

He's also England captain and has come up with important goals before.

Yeah, and he also scored the winner against Slovakia. There's a reason he has as many goals as he does. He clearly starts against any team in the world and that will be the case again on Sunday.

In previous tournaments, yes I get it. He just seems to have been off this whole tournament.

He's also scored more goals from penalties than any other England player

He has been, but if he can score a winner in extra time, he can score late on which is why it was brave sub by Southgate which was my initial point

I just think that younger players who are fitter and better able to go the full match, should get a look in. I think the same when talking about CR7 and some of the other players of the same era, at this tournament. They might not be fit for the next one, when the OAPs are doing crisp ads or something.

Experience counts for a lot in tournaments though. If your leading goal scorer, captain and experienced player is fit, he starts and he plays. Ollie Watkins did brilliantly when he came off the bench but it doesn't mean he starts the final.
