Having a bit of a message thing just now with a guy re underwear - I buy some knickers from Primark, is nice and washes well just for info. Got some matching stuff from Asda in the sale but what I really want to know is assuming one fits into Ann Summers corsets, how the hell do you do them up yourself? !!

Put it on, twist the back round to the front and do it up then breath in a lot and twist it back round.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Get one that also has fastenings at the front. That's what I do.

Other thing to consider, my corsets have a zip at the side, so easier to basically set the tightness of the back and then permanently leave it like that, eg don't undo, just have to breath in a lot when zipping up the side!

I wear steel bone corsets and had to learn to do them up myself as I had no on to help me.

Pull the lace ends in the middle and adjust the rest until the desired tightness is achieved.

It takes practice I admit.

It is also advisable to allow the body to adjust for at least 30min before final tightening if one does not wear a corset all the time.

Don't wear corsets with plastic bones as they bend too easily.

Like Pearl, I learned how to do them myself and also love steel boned tight lacing corsets.

It takes practice and time - also if you are new to steel boned, you need to break them (and yourself) into wearing them - start with a short time and wear them at home, and build up...

Oh and erm do be careful of the bottom of the busque if you get naughty with someone wearing one... a certain very special person for me, has a permanent scar where it rubbed on his tummy (we were both way too busy to notice)

Really great advice and help. Thank you all so much - did love the last post re the injury to the guy not that I wish him pain but did have a little giggle that you were obviously having a lot of fun that no-one noticed. I will remember that if I get requests for corset wearing

first times hard, I usually look and guess, do the lace up at the back then try it on, if its a bit tight/loose I keep taking it off and ajust it till its right, I always buy the ones with the metal clips at the front as I just think they fit and keep shape better so once its fitted first time leave the back alone and just do and undo the front, or you could be really cheeky and ask someone at a club (if you go) to help, most people are happy to help you out, never had anyone yet take offence by me just asking them to lace me up

Not true at all, there are many ways to self lace a tight lacing corset - I lace mine myself all the time - never had anyone to help lace it up - Unlacing I seem to have help with tho lol

You could wrap the laces on a door handle then walk away from the door - with a little practice it works fine x

Need to know basis

Sorry Scopiogirl to jump on the band wagon...but I have a general question to all Corset wearing ladies...I hope you won't mind.

How do you chose the size if you buy a steel boned corset online? I guess there are differences between brands and names...

I had one from Ann Summers..plastic bones and when on my back with my legs up I looked like I was 5 months pregnant...not a good look

A proper tight lacing steel boned corset - to buy the right size measure your waist, and then you can go 4 - 6 inches smaller for a corset - and thats your corset size. I recommend 4 inch off for a first timer, 6 if you're used to them

More great advice - thank you. So general thoughts are - no plastic bones, not ann summers, front fastening so I can leave laces alone. other main thing hope if I do it will result in more fun with sexy guy ive started seeing again.

If you're ok paying a bit more then it's worth contacting vollers who offer loads of support and advice to their customers, a wide choice of off the peg as well as a custom making service.

You can get steel boned ones much cheaper off ebay etc but for your first it is worth going for the extra care.

For my first corset, I went to Fairygothmother in London and the helpful lady there measured me and found me a corset that fitted me nicely.

It cost nearly 150 GBP, however, I can wear it long term as it is very comfortable, being short on the body and does not dig into my thighs when I am sitting down, and the quality is superb.

The waist size is at least 4in smaller than my natural waist size. She also said that the bigger the person, the squidgier her waist, and can get a smaller waist size.

I un-stitched the flap at the back, as I can't always close the back enough for the flap to cover gap fully.

Besides, I like the contracting look of lace against bare skin.

My other long term wear corset is a Voller, again very comfortable, and short on the body. Again, the quality is superb.

Corsets from corsets-uk are fine for short term wear, as the ones I have bought are a tad too long on the body, and they would dig into my thighs when sitting down.

Also their fit around the bust are not as good as the two better ones that I have.

However, they are good value for money for the intended purposes of short term play wear.

I have been wearing steel bone corsets for a number of years before I joined FAB, and have learnt to lace them up myself without help.

They give me an instant waist reduction and a decent shape that no amount dieting or exercising can achieve!

I just wear normal ones and entice the gent to take them off instead.

If I were to get a third good quality corset for long term wear, I would go down the route of paying a bit extra and have one made to measure from Voller.

Got a underbust one from them, first in the wrong size (my fault, it turned out I needed a smaller size), got it exchanged without any fuss (just need to remember to try them on with a T-shirt), and they were very helpful when I made enquiries about what size would suit my boobs etc...

Can't fault them.

Just to say, I love corsets, have worn them for many years... had everything from vollers, fairygothmother to custom made, to corsets-uk. For my body shape now since losing weight, I have to say the corsets-uk ones are the best fit, and I can wear them long term. Don't think price is a definite guide to comfort.

You can buy long line or short line corsets (the length) so will find something to fit and flatter.

You will likely find that even with a front busque you will still need to learn to tighten your laces to get the proper tight-lacing effect. Also, build up the time you wear them - so don't buy it the day before a meet and expect to feel ok in it all day/night.

Like has been said - avoid the cheapy plastic boned ones - they just twist and dig in and aren't flattering!

Vollers make to suit every size.

And don't be put off if you call them for advice and speak to a man, they know what they are talking about!
