Hi fabbers….
So since you have joined fab would you say your outlook has changed for what you like ?
And I don’t just mean standards… but I mean a type of person you might choose, rather than pick looks go off their character …or your idea of what swinging is ….
Hopefully that makes sense ….

"Yes, I used to like men.
Then I joined fab.
Imagine that being said about women…"
No imagination necessary. Women are slated here every day. Many times a day.
It's unnecessary to down any gender based on your own experiences to be fair. |

I’ve no desire to have a go at any group of people - any issues I have are with individuals

Anyway...
My outlook has changed significantly. Partly because I joined as part of a couple so wasn't really interested in meeting people for anything other than sex. Now I'm after a bit more which makes it harder. My tick sheet expanded! |

Yes so much for the better , freer communication, attitudes generally positive, it a good learning platform but for me it tends to be non judgmental
It’s a space to watch listen and enjoy plus hook
Up with some very fabulous people where pleasure is the currency of life |

I wouldn't say my outlook has changed, more that I've discovered what suits me and what doesn't. I had no idea what I liked when I first joined, experimented extensively, then gradually uncovered where my preferences lay. |

I joined following a friend. She introduced me to others (which I was not expecting).
I have found people on Fab fascinating and been introduced to a wide variety of people outside my normal circle, some of whom have become good friends. |

I’ve been using Fab for over 11 years now, and I’ve shared some wonderful times with likeminded people, quite a few of who have become genuine friends
I still prefer to meet people I can socialise with, meet up for ‘just’ a brew and a natter, it doesn’t always have to be about sex, but I do love being able to just drop a filthy comment in to our conversation without batting an eyelid lol…..
My ‘tastes’ haven’t changed, but since I made the schoolboy error of aging beyond 45, I find the amount of people I am able to message (as a white, straight, solo male) has become far fewer. It is what it is though, I make the most of any opportunities which come my way…… |

I’ve not changed my standards, or the type of person I like, but I did think I didn’t mind meeting strangers at 1st, that’s definitely changed for me. Fwb / fuck buddies is definitely where I feel better.

Not at all.
We still enjoy meeting people we are physically attracted to and that share similar values, humour and interests.
This is just the internet.
There appear to be a few people around here that take their general experience of fab far too seriously.

Nothings changed for me really - I enjoy chatting to women and men and building connections. I am a lot more weary of gents intentions - we had a regular FWB who we trusted implicitly but since he got partnered up we’ve not been able to find anyone to replace. Men don’t tell the truth a lot more than women, in our experiences.
For C, when single on here she had an absolute no list, which has eased She was no to tattoo’s, no to beards or stubble and that’s eased although anyone with a proper full on beard is still a no.
I think we’ve become more switched on to what works for us now and also more relaxed in finding it. We have explored all different avenues and established where and what makes us feel sexiest.

I think that makes sense to me. I'll just answer it and find out.
I don't think what I find attractive has changed, it has more reasserted the things I knew were important to me.
It's the friendships I've formed that have taught me the most about myself in terms of swinging and how that is different for me depending upon the relationships. Navigating the differences in levels of communication and involvement and appreciating those elements, whilst seemingly separate to attraction are integral to compatibility.
It's very easy for me to say someone is appealing physically, but that's not the same as being attracted (actually experiencing sexual desire) for me. If that's not something the other person can appreciate about me then I tend to let it go. I am quite sure that can make me seem confusing or frustrating, but it's just who I am. There isn't a formula for it - sometimes there's just that there's something happening here sensation and sometimes there's not. |

I'm not sure. I'm more convinced than ever that I'm not a swinger and I'm also more comfortable with that.
Actually, when I first joined I very much wanted just casual sex, no names, no repeats. Simple. Just your standard slutty postgrad with an oral fixation.
And then I realised it wasn't particularly satisfying for me.
Now? I'm not actively looking for anything and enjoying the friendships that develop. Sometimes sex is involved. Sometimes feelings even come in to play. I couldn't have sex without a certain level of friendship. I don't think my tastes have really changed - they've always been eclectic. How I go about it has though.
And there's far less overthinking which is a bit of a relief.

In the years I've been on here my types and standards did not change.
What did change was meeting my partner, which in turn changed how I use fab, to just dicking around on the forums. Which I used to do before, but was also actively looking to meet.
That desire to meet people for emotionless sex has gone, it was all good for a while, but now I see I always craved something more fulfilling luckily i found more than I ever thought i would on fab.

Before we first swapped with a couple we did have a strict dont list. We're more inclined to go with the flow now. Kissing, and fucking other partners in different rooms is something we don't mind. We're even open to threesome with coupes we've met before.
Person wise, our type hasn't changed. Those similar age to us, 40s and 50s, not overweight, etc.. |

All I've learnt so far is that the real/physical world will always be my favorite! I find chatting to people, even stranger comes pretty natural to me, but online, I cant even get a hello.
Still sticking around to have a nosey, but not a big fan on online platforms - though I stay open-minded. |

Outlook? No.
I have the same view of the site now as I did when I first joined. No expectations and just enjoy the ride.
How I interact has changed back to when I first joined though as I'm now just here for me, rather than looking as part of a couple. It was an easy transition to change back.
The site is what you make it. It's a tool, a great one, and not any kind of service or magic wand to provide easy access to sex because you can't source that elsewhere. |

No one thinks it’s an easy access to sex and, if they do, that is kicked out of them after about five minutes.

Sorry to hear it’s not helping the soul. When I first joined (original profile) I assumed it would be a lot more interactive. Then I realised i need to take it as an ‘escape from real world’ and just go with the flow and not get caught up in the ‘why aren’t I getting meets’ idea… use forums… message the profiles that interest you … if no response we move on.
For example ..I sent a message to a lady earlier today which had my face in it. I was blocked. Now that could be taken the wrong way (god damn I am that ugly), but a good way to look at it is that I wasn’t for her so to prevent future confusion /messaging then she blocks to end it there

I assumed this was meant as humour but some people just affirmed the sentiment.
My preferences never changed. Always been into Dominate women of 28-60 the only thing that has changed is my self worth. I used to have some. |

It wasn't taken well regardless and instead of complaining about the generalised nature of the comment. How about we think about why such a statement exists and why others might be offended by it? |

I get the impression that this is true - I was blocked the other day for saying “ah, the dreaded x social” (I won’t mention the name of it obviously). It was just a flip comment not a criticism as I’d heard about it endlessly from someone else on here. I was called various things and blocked. Very odd |

Subsequent comments confirmed it wasn’t humour - I merely pointed out that saying a similar thing about women would not have been taken well.
It wasn't taken well regardless and instead of complaining about the generalised nature of the comment. How about we think about why such a statement exists and why others might be offended by it?
I understand why people say such things but I don’t agree with such statements. You can’t write off an entire section of a community based on one characteristic.
I can write off who I want, joys of having an opinion.
And I can disagree with your opinion - joys of also having an opinion
Affirming my point nicely though.
Doing nothing of the sort - how can all men be awful?
Did I say they were?
You don’t like men - that’s your position isn’t it? And you don’t like them because of Fab? Correct?
Or have I missed something?

And I say it’s an unsustainable statement - some men and women on here should not be allowed near a computer, let alone other humans (some say I’m one of these people).
Most on here are ok and a select few are more than ok.
Pretty typical of society really. |

Nothings changed in that I fancy who I fancy, never had a type (but always preferred older men).
What HAS changed is my body (perimenopause) and as a result my moods and my overall willingness to have casual sex with someone who doesn’t really care about me in the way I’d want them to care about me, when I currently feel I’m at my most vulnerable and unsexiest.
Being on here (and another site previously) has made me appreciate that I’m actually happier in exclusive, monogamous relationships.
So I no longer meet, for sex. I wouldn’t say no to a social meet as long as it was understood it was just that.
And who knows, in a few years things may change if I get my razzmatazz back, but if not, I’m quite happy as I am.

Bless. I hope you offer that same sentiment to all other people too. And yes actually she can. Coyote can believe whatever they wish. That is an opinion they have formed and they are welcome to it. Just as you are welcome to react in a typically reactive manner. You could have offered compassion and understanding. Shown them a reason to believe otherwise. Instead you chose righteous indignation. Also your right but I am sure mansplaining generalisation does nothing to move the conversation. |

Ah another fascinating skill us humans have. The ability to hate the intolerant with as much Bile as they do.
If you can't stand misogyny or misandry what are you doing to change the conditions that allow those things to persist. If you preach tolerance and then state that you can't tolerate people who are intolerant. Are you really tolerate?
Again, instead of hating a person who follows an ism. We could simply ask why they feel that way and how can we help. |

Honestly? Since being on fab it’s put me off internet swingers. I used to swing regularly with my partner in clubs and I still go, just less regularly due to work commitments. The people in clubs seem far more genuine.
Here, I can’t be bothered to wade through all the bullshit. Above posters are swinging handbags about some stupid comment (and the comments from both sides are stupid). Looking at an awful lot of men and women on this site, if this is how they are in real life, they’re quite frankly bloody awful people. But that’s the internet all over isn’t it?
Perhaps I’m not invested enough in the site to see people on their true light. |

30++ years on the scene me and hubs were quite young but had loads of older heads around us ... i leant quick to be blunt and to the point or people will walk all over you especially men especially men of other couples and thats not changed so niether has my views ...
i wont and never have played with anyone whom ive not felt sexually attracted to so no change there but what has changed is i see more and more entiltlement now than there ever has been more moaning more blaming more men alot lot more men ...
my selection process i guess has changed its still sexual attraction but im more on my toes via messaging if fact this is where the hot to me guys fail alot and i guess the reason being i dont really ''need'' fab for guy or any sex as my little black book is full of lush people from our years on the scene...
clubs have changed massively the used to be full now they are if lucky quarter to half full if that some nights they are just you yep we had that recently a club night were we were the only ones the shut down early that night ...
private invite only parties is where its all at now days its like the pre internet days again and booming alot of couples and ladies only parties and some with a few known men (shame really more men cant be invited as i enjoy the guys)
more private invite only web groups now where you are vetted and invite only
so we have not changes as such maybe more selective via the messaging side the scene its self has changed massively ..more clubs .. more internet .. more roleplay rather than real play and the biggest change of all flooded with guys whiles online at least less couples less women .... and years ago people joined these sites to play not chat/social media
too much advice now days too let people figure it out for themselves and be themselves too many blogs and oh look at us / false .. tv the same all fake when it comes to swinging / kink
what i do love today is people are more free with there sexuality .... stay horny folks swinging in its real form will never die it just moves around and adjusts itself |

I've never had any interest in what swinging is for some because I'm not a swinger so nothing has changed in that regard.
I've said many times, this is a hobby not a lifestyle choice.
I joined looking to explore things I'd never had the opportunity to explore at any stage previously and with very little sexual experience at the age of 52.
I've remained true to myself over the last 8 years since I signed up and have never been like a kid in a sweet shop.
I remain the same fussy fucker I was back then and for that reason have turned down twice as many offers as I've accepted and less than 10 percent of my fab meets have gone beyond a social.
I'm attracted to women I get on with. Women on a similar journey to mine and who aren't here just to add me to their to-do list.
There have been a few wrong turns along the way, none of which I regret but I still use the same due diligence I've always used and will continue to do so.
Quality people are much more attractive than quality sex. |

Yes & no.
I joined as a single, I've been here with my partner & now I'm here, seperated, so my circumstances have changed significantly.
Always stayed within my boundaries of engagement, & enjoyed it immensely when with similar minded folk, wild chemistry & organic evolution. My kink preferences haven't changed but I have leant into different elements with different connections, & found new ones with specific people. |

I'm not your pal, mate
You’ve blocked me so don’t message again
I've never messaged you.
And I don't think that rule works like you think it does.

Again, plenty I could say but I won’t
But yet there you are saying something anyway.
I wonder if you know any women in real life.

Yeah 100%, I feel we allow their personality to come through before we decide as I feel like you can like that person a lot more when you allow yourself to get to know them on a deeper level.
We've changed over the years of being on here on how we look at it, go about things and it's definitely for the better.

"I'm with coyote somewhat - I've been put off men for life after joining here."
Can I ask - why stay then? This is a small sample of menfolk in the country and it's obvious that a much larger ratio than you'd meet at a jive dance club are a bit weird. Why not simply accept that you don't like the fab type of menfolk and sample some from another source? |

"I definitely joined expecting to only care for my age or younger.
Then it was hot older woman central and my eyes were opened. So if anything I'm less fussy, just be fun and sexy "
I have had a similar experience where by I didn’t think ladies older than me would have any interest, I assumed those my own age would be the ones to interact. But fab has opened my eyes to not assume ..and go with the flow |
