What do you guys do when you catch someone out in a lie? Do you call them on it or just block/ignore them?
Just happened to me, the catching someone out part I mean!
I’m in two minds to confront them about it or just think “bollocks to it “ and block them |

Lies tend to be under layers of plausible deniability.
A friend taught me a long time ago, the best way is to deal with it is to call them out on it. Did you lie to me?
Their reaction says everything in that moment. If there's no remorse or ownership - then I'm done. If there is, then maybe there's a conversation worth having still. Depends on the circumstances. |

Depends what's it's about and how it affects me/someone I care about.
For here I just ignore or block if I feel I've been lied to. Don't need to understand their motive or receive an apology. Just move on from it.

I tend to just ignore lies nowadays and separate myself from the person.
You have to have a very good memory or actually believe the lie to be successful at it. Most liars have neither, the good ones don't get caught out |

It depends on the lie and how much I've invested in chatting /getting to know them.
Any big lies like not being single or hiding who they are, would make me block and cut contact though.
I was chatting to a single male on here years ago, he must have forgot he'd said he was single. One eve he said "soz gotta go as that's my wife home"....
I replied along the lines of how he must have selective amnesia to forget she exists and blocked him. |

We all lie. Every day - all of us.
What kind of lie was it O.P. ?
Honestly it matters cos some lies just don't matter and others are a hanging offence.
