I haven’t ran it but lower your expectations for your times. There’s that many people running it can easily add 20 minutes to your normal half marathon time.

Training is a bit hit and miss at the moment . Injured hip ! Hubby doing better than me. Every year i have done it it has been a very different experience. Last year had extremes of weather.

Relax and enjoy it ..the atmosphere and local support is ace. I always go on the left carriageway at the start so i go under the oggie oggie bridge lol.

I have heard this with the sheer numbers running it is massively slower than usual, if I am honest just looking forward to the atmosphere not looking for a time !

You might even get to fist bump Eddie Howe on the way round

I ran (slowly jogged) it several years ago. Hadn't trained for it, only ran a few 5ks before. Wore new trainers, lost a toenail few days later. Couldn't walk next day!... Don't be me OP

Really enjoyed it though

I only did it that year as someone had an injury so I took their number off them for the price they paid - hence zero training. I did legitimately put in for the ballot the following year, got a place, got an injury myself so deferred. And then fitness totally fell by the wayside.

I’ve got a place not sure if I’ll be doing it though yet as I might be on a works course from the Monday and if that’s the case I’ll need to be getting ready for that.

Aye they tell you that shit!

I did the 'Fun run' at Saltwell Park too... Undulating apparently also means the 'wall of death!'

"How hilly is the GN Run?"

It's not that bad! The drops are easier than the highs. If you ran it in reverse it'd be harder going. Loads of wheelie folk do it every year. It's a very inclusive race

Incline of opportunity is my favourite way to hide an awful incline

"How hilly is the GN Run?"

It’s not hilly. You start on the Town Moor/Central Motorway and end up at sea level so it’s a net drop. X
