Carlisle usually

For dipping in houmous and guacamole, hard.

For warm comfort food, soft.

Are we talking carrots here? Cold for nibbles or dipping, hard. Cooked soft but with a little bite, not mush.

Beetroot, always soft

Hard, don't like overcooked veggies, too much like school dinners. Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, even courgettes should all be slightly hard.

Hard. Al dente is perfect.

Soft if it's mash though. Or the inside of a fluffy chip or baked sweet potatoes or really good roasties with gravy.

My inlaws only eat vegetables if they can mash it with a fork.

I end up cooking two different styles of veg over Christmas.

I’m against soft, mush-like, cooked to death vegetables.
