Fabs vs the real world

Gents, lads, fellas, What inspires you to stay here on fabs? Do you find you have better luck in the real world (out in town, work, random encounters) than you do here? I certainly do , simply because I rely on my chat …but the lure of fabs is real and keeps me enticed/curious constantly. For me it’s the random moments it brings , a world separated from the real world. |

Because I enjoy it.
I've never contemplated leaving. Met some awesome people over the years.
And I don't consider finding company on here 'luck'. It shouldn't be a case of having more 'success' on or off site unless you're just counting numbers. |

Fab holds a special part in my heart, without it I wouldn't be where I am today, without the forums I have no idea what my life would have turned out like 9 years ago if it hadn't been for a dating thread.
My life has changed somewhat over the last year and I've retired (for men at least), I've deleted my old profile but I couldn't stay away, I love this place too much.

I don't like the part in relationships where you blend your lives together - families, helping raise their kids, moving in, picking whose toaster and microwave to keep and whose to sell. I don't want to have to be nice to someone's appalling mother and I have a tendency to settle down with men whose lives are full of a shed load of drama.
Fab allows me to make wonderful connections without having to put up with all the above. I can try new things, sometimes things I would possibly never have thought of without inspiration, with no need to worry about judgement of a more vanilla partner.
I can walk away easily if I'm not getting what I need without having to sell a 4 bedroom house and bite my tongue at texts asking if I'm returning their pillow before we complete the sale or if I could lend them 7k to buy. a new car  
Oh and The Lounge makes me laugh. |

That’s fair comment, maybe it was a cliche saying the real world, but again, this is why I like fabs because you can speak and be far more open then you can be in “ the real world” …..my bad I said it again  |

This week is the most amount of time my partner and I have ever spent together in one spell.
Pretty sure if we'd booked a fortnight instead of just a week one of us would have drowned the other.
I have zero interest in ever living with someone again and enjoy the ability to do as I wish, with who I wish, when I wish (as can my partner of course) knowing there'll be zero drama, issue or jealousy between us.
*plus no arguing over colour schemes or duvet tog ratings. |

I don't go looking for connections anywhere else but fab so I don't have anything to compare.
I'm not currently being by choice and circumstance so I'm only here for the forums as I don't use any other part of the site but luck has never had anything to do with my success on fab.
It's a very deliberate process. |

If I could be in a fulfilling relationship, I would be...too many bad experiences, a couple toxic and abusive relationships, commitment issues and extreme independency- all combined push me to compensate the lack of intimacy with fab. I guess the casual meets make me feel free - like I'm not trapped in a relationship cage with bars of unrealistic or extreme expectations... |

I've met far more people away from here from more conventional dating sites. Met my last partner on one and it was great while it lasted. I think I just stay here for something to while away the time.. |

Some may say it’s a plastic hallway where fantasists and purveyors of illusion run freely with no sanctions and good men (and women and whatever sexuals) die like dogs in the gutter. There is also a negative side! |

I think it's the directness that appeals to me the most. It recognises a fundamental human need (for most folks) and provides a platform for said folks to find each other, connect and hopefully fulfil that need for all parties.

It can be as straightforward or as complicated as you wish to make it. I would hazard a fair few prefer the uncomplicated, which is why they might prefer FAB over a traditional dating site for example.

Real life is just full of Muggles …
On fab there is a kinship, an openess and it’s non judgemental on people’s sexual preferences and backgrounds
There is on the whole, a genuine sense of help too if needed re advise etc
Some threads are keenly informative interesting and intelligent
I have met some great people on here - and indeed on the forum
Great stories, live sex in the cam rooms - always the chance of more pleasure to give and receive

I have been on and off swinging sites for over 20 years. Both as a single guy and as a couple. I have met some amazing people over the years. But from a single guys perspective, I don't think you can beat Tinder for hookups. Fab does work, but as a single guy you have to put in serious effort. Most women I know get hundreds of messages every day and often end up getting overwhelmed by it. I think 20 years ago the swinging scene was a little easier for single guys. |
