No not in my pants!
Having moved to a popular "holiday" destination for the b*stards...they returned about 3 weeks ago, I have tried every spray and powder going and now utterly sick of them having a party in my house!
Does anyone have any suggestions or tips? |

"Have you tried a pot of something sweet buried, they're attracted to sweet substances and can't swim."
The buggers here can swim! I tried drowning a few in my kitchen sink earlier and they didn't die!
But nope not tried a pot... |

"Your best bet is to find the nest, dig it out and kill the queen. Boiling water is best once you've exposed it, they can't become immune to it!..."
Where do I find the nest? Do I even want to? |

Put something sweet on the floor and follow the trail of ants back. You'll either find how they're getting in or the nest. The ants you're finding only exist to bring food back to the nest. X |

Yeah I know the drill, find food, get their mates and take it back to Mrs Queen!
With quite a big house I could be following them for days
Bloody cats won't even kill them!

we had the buggers last yr coming thru our wall there was hundreds lol i tried everything but someone told me about this thing which is like a gluey liquid and it attracts them to it then they take it back to the nest and it kills the whole nest within a few days its called Nippon ant killer liquid, its a small tube white and red you can get it from hardware store for about 1.50, you only need to put a few droplets down on something old which a old small plate nothing cardboard as it will leak thru, i used a same piece of plastic. never saw them again x |

You can get little pots with the sticky poison in, they look like an upturned jar lid with three or four holes around the sides. Think i got mine from wilko.
I put it down in a corner in the kitchen and in a couple of days no more ants. |

i would suggest the above, they are very good, powder takes forever to work, they'll just leave tiny foot prints in it and mock you |

I remember once when I was a kid back in the 60s, I was staying over at a friends house and sitting at the breakfast table. My friend's mum put a couple of boxes of cereal on the table and I took the Sugar Puffs and tipped some into my bowl. To my horror, my whole bowl was alive with ants which must have gotten in the box in the cupboard. They were crawling up the sides of the bowl and spilling onto my lap and the table.
I still remember the trauma to this day. *shudders* |

I used to live next door to a very nice old Jain gentleman, who had been expelled by Idi Amin from Uganda. The house was regularly full of ants and he seemed upset to see me killing them. He suggested painting a thin coating of paraffin around the perimeter of the house ... it seemed to work; they never came back. |
