"Anyone else feeling it’s going to penalties? got that squeaky bum feeling "
It won't. Slovakia got lucky with their first goal. They are no match for England. |

I maintain that as football fans, we are allowed to be as emotional and as fickle as we want because that's part of the joy and sadness of loving football and supporting our team. That being said... IT'S COMING HOME!!!! |

"It’s obviously my name change that did it!
I can see the Sun headline now : IT WOZ WILLY THAT WON IT!
p.s. it’s clearly COMING HOME! "
Just keep Willy out of sight for a while in case it’s a bad omen |

"Left it till late but England won and it's the result that matters in the end.
Going to need to play much quicker against Swiss though or will get beat. "
Maybe someone could lock Southgate in the cupboard and let someone else take over |

I was going to comment on that much earlier, but I didn't want to jinx it! |

I was thinking two minutes for Slovakia to see this out and then, it was away.
Very disappointing |

Southgate needs to revise his starting eleven for Switzerland game. Surprise and confuse the opposition who will be expecting him to stay the same. Can always sub in 2nd half to get usual suspects back on. |

I think it’s just that we don’t seem to have a structure of forward play that makes everyone uncomfortable and unhappy
Yes a wins a win
But it’s going to take some sort of change to beat Switzerland in the next game
Here’s hoping
Maybe we can hope that bum in the no 10 puts on a show???
The nice one in those pictures!!!

piss poor ... southgate is truly mr boring mr boring tactics a manager who turns very good player to boring
4 or 5 of them should not be in the team
but its a win if the swiss play as they have then i dont see us beating unless mr boring changes tactics

England have an outstanding array of forward talent and that pulled Southgate's fat out of the fire tonight.
A natural left-back is still needed for the next game and Gallagher should start over Mainoo unless Bellingham drops back to CM. |

Yes we do need a naturally left footed fullback
But the only one we seem to have is injured??
Don’t understand in the modern game
How we don’t have a couple in the system
Even if it’s an under 21 player
Constantly turning inside onto your right foot only creates problems
An already congested midfield??
In swinging cross to close to the keeper??
If we ever cross it?

Ok, I'll say it. It looks like Bellingham is staying as the 10 so if that's the case, Mainoo must start as the 8. Foden needs dropping and I'd bring Eze on on the left.
Shaw has apparently been training so although slim, he may play against Switzerland but if not, Trippier seems fine in that position although fear that Saka may he deployed as a makeshift |

Just have to ask
Why is saka not taking people on??
He’s not the only one
It seems that everyone just has to turn inside!!
And when watching tonight
I started counting how many touches we had before we crossed the halfway line
I could have gone out and made a cup of tea at one point

It genuinely feels like a fear of risk but we're not retaining the ball anyway. Might as well give it away trying to make something happen than give it away regardless. |

Yeah I agree
Pickford plays it to walker
Who plays in to stones
Who plays it back to either of the others
Not really triangles
More like squares??
Yes I know they are looking for movement in front of them
But if you don’t use the width up front
It just means it’s congested in midfield
No room for Bellingham etc
