I just watched 10 mins of it..

I thought being a Saturday night the big guns of music would be on and it would be rocking!?

But oh no!!!!

There’s someone called little simz who I’ve never heard off..

Spouting racism and basically an absolute load of crap..

It’s actually hilarious when they scan the crowd you can see the disappointment on people’s faces as they’ve probably paid £200 a ticket for a Saturday night..

And before anyone says it...

I’m not a racist and like allsorts of music..

10 whole minutes. That’s definately giving it a good go… headliners don’t start until 10pm but there are other stages on iplayer…. Plenty of choice for most tastes.

It's not for you, which is fine, but also it's not FOR you.

There's plenty of words that groups of people used between themselves that are offensive to others. For example, if one of your mates called you a cunt, that would be affectionate banter, but if I called you a cunt, you'd be offended.

It’s the first year I’ve noted a lack of bands/artists that I recognise. I’ve watched plenty of the coverage but it’s not really been for me. I did find myself sofa bopping to Dua Lipa last night however. She was pretty slick and polished in performance.

That was my initial thought. I also think that a lot of the stadium/arena acts, are choosing to tour and earn their dollars vs playing for free.

There's been quite a lot of bands I know, from listening to 6music most of the time, on iPlayer, and we've just been watching Orbital on BBC4 but some of the pop acts are starting to be too young for me.

Well I saw Coldplay for the first time and I loved the set, seeing MJ Fox was also a good surprise.

Then Disclosures which I thought I hadn't heard of but knew most of their music.

I donot think I will see S Twain but then again I might.

Glasto was criticised for not heading women acts so are remedying that this year.

I will watch Dupa on iplayer but I do not think know her music.

The iplayer is good for Glasto most of the acts will be on there over this and next month, so I look forward to going though the choices.

Bookface summed it up pretty well......

Glasonbury - where champaign socialists go to virtue signal about open borders, behind an Israeli style wall that keeps out the riff-raff who can't afford the £340 ticket.

It gets less like a music festival and more like a "must be seen at" every year.

Congrats to Colplay for the first band to headline 5 times and their guest appearance of Michael J fox though.

Its on my bucket list to get to and I've recorded some of it to catch up during the week

Don't think I'd even go to the pyramid stage to be honest if I get there as there's a lot more to see and do than just watch the headliners so I presume the people that go have a completely different experience of watching than someone at home on the couch with a beer

Get to a live gig no matter how small the band as it can make a huge difference to them

Little Sims has every right to be at Glastonbury, she’s a successful and respected UK artist. In this era of British black music she is one of the best. She’s also a great actress.

"I just watched 10 mins of it..

I’m not a racist and like allsorts of music.."

No you're just right... It's all an absolute pile of shite.

I've got a little Sims in my new phone. Much smaller than the old ones you used to get.. That's progress I guess...

"It’s funny how the sort of people who originally frequented Glastonbury aren’t welcome at Glastonbury nowadays.

The thought of rubbing shoulders with lawyers and bankers all singing along to Coldplay just gives me the ick.

No thanks , I’m out.

Of course they're welcome, or is there some kind of screening by the organisers on who can buy tickets? "

Yes. The numbers before the decimal point.

Have you not seen the ticket prices as well as the cost of everything else there? It’s definitely a festival for the well off.

That's a slightly different issue. I know it's very expensive, but I don't think the crowd is especially less diverse or more middle class because of it. Glastonbury was hardly ever a working class bastion!

And I reckon lots of the people who's 'originally frequented' still go - always comes across that way when you see interviews or documentaries about it. People seem to make a big deal of saying they've been going for years!

Able to afford £200+ for a ticket, plus travel, possibly a day or two off work. Not forgetting the cost of food, drink and suitable clothing for the weekend.

200 quid for glasto is wishful thinking... 360 quid wasn't it this year?. Still each to their own

I went to Glasto three times in the 1990s with plenty of great bands....2024 didnt have many great acts....the big crowds are really offputting... Or maybe just my age about worrying to get to the toilet and standing up for hours half a mile from the stage.

Let alone the camping part
