Two places for me, Barcelona and Amsterdam. Two places I instantly felt at home.

What about you?

I'm definitely with you regarding Amsterdam, could absolutely live there. Been a few times now and I have the best time (not just because of the and red light district )

All where my offices are based but all beautiful in their own right. Would happily consider more permanent residency in this locations. Been to most others mentioned, also great alignment and feeling. But these above are my own preference.

Near the Beach

Zakynthos, Ionian Islands - moved there 6 months later, but to the quieter northern part of the island. Not the Club 18-30 areas in the south.

Also, Isola di Ortigia, in Siracusa, Sicily. It's gorgeous in every way and so magical at night, when it's all lit up

New York and San Francisco.

I felt safer in New York than I ever did in London and I just felt a special vibe there, maybe from having seen it so many times in movies perhaps? I dunno, hard to describe.

San Francisco. Great City and friendly folk. Hated riding the trams.

I usually hire a car and do a bit of travelling round the island

I've had some interesting nights in the sand dunes near the airport too

Yup, up on the Purley Way. Battle of Britain fought from there.

Stourport-On-Severn

For me the place i fell in love with is Greek island of Thasos. I first went there as teenager in the 1970's with a group of friends. I went back with my then wife in the 1990's and stayed at Golden beech. Been back many times since because one of my teenage friends that i went with in the 1970's bought a villa about 10 years ago. It's without doubt THE place i feel most at home.

There is something delightful about sitting in a street cafe on a sunny day watching the world go by.

Cuba- despite its many problems, its an amazing place and i have plans to return to discover more of it

Loved Australia too, sadly, too old to get through their immigration laws to live there now

Galapagos is like another planet and a total dream world- what it would be like to live there is a different animal though?

I am currently half looking for a small place in Southern France, with one eye on retiring there
