Reports from Forest Gate which originally was the Gate to Epping Forest, one of the many jewels in the Essex crown, is under investigation. The local council painted three Pride flags on the pavements and a person or persons unknown painted over them with red paint. The council repainted the flags in Pride colours and once again they have been painted over in red paint. The council intend to repaint them again. Reports that the Chief of Police has sent his men to investigate a 'homophobic hate crime'. Now Tom likes and respects people of all sexualities. He did this even before the law made it compulsory. One observation here? If the flag is all encompassing of every sexuality then how does the police know if it's homophobic, biphobic, lesbianphobic, transphobic or any other phobic you can mention. Can the council win this game of painting by numbers? Could it be Bansky, the Russians or the Chinese?
Is the red version, art in its own right? This was no rushed spray paint job. Meticulously carried out and no witnesses? One thing we know is that there is more to this than meets they eye. Its all over the news |
