"If you have a loft hatch. OPEN IT.
Trust me.
All that heat wants to rise. Let it chill in the loft rather than your living space. "
I did that this morning. Got an eye full of dust in the process |

Too many noise bastards around our way, even though it's the quite, sleepy seaside town of Ryde.
They're also spending the next month digging up the mead below our house, so it's way too busy to leave it all open. |

I don't open my windows, I'm in a tower block and have indoor only cats. Oh and two years ago I had an issue with the people above me throwing dog poop out their window and it would often land on my windowsill so that's definitely put me off |

We live in a new build and it's hot n stuffy, how ever I was a clever sausage and bought a portable aircon unit in December on sale £260 my bed room is a cool 22c best thing I have bought to combat the heat, even when it's not that hot my room is stuffy and horrible. |

Wasn't the intention of new builds to keep the heat both in and out?
Did you leave your windows open thinking it would get cooler in error? |

your advice isnt sound unless you know how your roof is built and if it uses air roofing grills
otherwise all of that loft heat can come back into the property
if your loft area happens to be a cold roof method your rooms can suck the heat in from the roof area as theres more flow of air with windows open
on newer builds they have roof vents not every property has these installed
then you comment is sound advice |
