Probably about 50 pairs, including walking shoes, casual trainers, sports trainers, high heels, smart ankle boots, casual ankle boots, knee boots, thigh boots, flip flops, flat sandals, wedge sandals, heeled sandals.

It's complicated being a woman.

Sadly I can no longer wear high heels due to foot issues

The answer to this question is always not enough. I don’t care that I can only wear one pair at once and that it’s the same 3 pairs that usually get worn or that I live in trainers or wellies most days. They just look so pretty more so when worn whilst my legs are wrapped around someone’s waist too

I do believe the answer you’re looking for though is probably somewhere around 30. Currently saving for the Aquazzura Bow tie pumps

Dearest Nero, I fear I may oust myself as somewhat unhinged given the figures being quoted by the others in this thread.

Following a quick totting up, I have approximately 210 pairs high heels, around 35 pairs of flat shoes of one form or another, and less than ten-ish pairs of practical shoes such as wellington boots or running shoes. Indeed, the ratio of functional to decorative can be taken as a reasonable representation of my overall personality.

There is a room in my home with shelving the entire way around the room to display said high heels, it brings my vapid little heart great joy to walk into that room when dressing for an evening.

"Approx 40 pairs. Mostly boots and converse.

1 pair of heels."

Save your heels for my phallus (without malice)

Define shoes. As opposed to footwear. Cos I got shoes and trainers and boots and sandals and wellies and even a pair of crocs plus slippers so, yeah, shoes or footwear?

Thank you, I am fortunate to be able to indulge myself and highly recommend everyone does so with the things that bring them pleasure. Be it a weekly bunch of flowers or a collection of marvellous mugs, you are worth it.

How funny you should ask this question today. I bumped into an old colleague at the supermarket earlier who asked if I still had a show obsession?

It has been over 20 years since we used to work together and it reminded me of my proclivity for Streets Bond and Sloane back in the day. And the closet full of Chanel, Prada, Dior, YSL, LV Choo, Gucci et al that would grace my feet.

I took some male colleagues at the same time to lunch in my car as this voice piped up in the back I have just counted 17 pairs of shoes back here. I would always drive in Tods and never the shoe I would be wearing for the day.

Today I was sporting some Adidas as the knees are now riddled with arthritis and the days of teetering around on 4 inch heels have long since gone.

Some of the shoes remain in one of the closets. No use to me now but their beauty prevents me selling them or giving them away.

I am not sure I have ever understood another human so well so swiftly. My Father calls my vehicle a "car-drobe," because there is always a selection of shoes in the back. One cannot drive in them or one will ruin the heels!

I am sorry that you can no longer wear them, but glad that you still gain joy from their beauty and hope you enjoy recalling how fabulous you looked when you did wear them.

I'm not a shoe person - I hate shoe shopping and I'd rather be barefoot. I consider my collection just about functional.

That said, I've just done a quick reccie and it's around 50 pairs

I'm shocked!

"Lådìes, Nøn-Bínarìes and Persons of Interest...

How many shoes do you ·really· have? Do not be bashful, confess!"

My partner owns more shoes. I can't be arsed. I'm happiest wearing nothing at all around the house. Makes laundry day simple.

I'm the same. I've kept all my sexy girly shoes. I wear a UK size 9/10. I figure I can sell the lot to trans males. It's difficult finding larger sexy kitten heels, platforms and other dressy shoes if you have wide, big feet.

You are correct Nero. I had a plate fixed to my broken leg. As long as I’m laying down I can eat my carbonara off it with my highest heels on. It’s quite a skill.

Lois, it's so very lovely to read you this evening and I miss you. Do you remember the Handbag thread from a while back? I need to rejuvenate my 'lifestyle' threads.

I do indeed. I thought of it when I saw this thread. My go to bag at the moment is an old Celine bag, as it fits on the back of the chair. I think I paid about £300 for it some 20 odd years ago. Might buy me a handle now
