I only replied to your comment to point out that it was not Facebook news. But evidenced from court / newspapers.
I just read up on the jay slater machete after seeing people mention it above to see if it was genuine or false news.
Outside of that I have no interest in what has happened as it doesn’t concern me .

He has either:
1. Had an accident - due to heat, terrain or vehicle
2. Done something dodgy, either whilst on the island or previously, and its consequences have caught up with him
3. Been attacked by a stranger
4. Done a runner
If he didn’t have a back story then either 1 or 3 would be the highest probabilities and 2 and 4 would be very unlikely. Given he does have a back story - who knows?

I’ve read all sorts about it and I dunno what to think to be honest.
Hopefully he turns up alive and well.
But some folk are going to be left feeling a bit shit if he turns up dead.
Bit like when all that fuss over Princess of Wales was abounding and then she declared she had Cancer. And folk had to apologise.
I shall wait to see what the outcome of this is.

The lads workplace made a statement saying the rumours are false, no way would he be caught up in stuff like that. His family have said it's false. Tbf I know who I would rather believe and god forbid I hope he's found one way or another for the poor familys sake. |

he is from my town, I don't know the lad personally as he is a lot younger but he does have a past. I am not one of the theorists either by the way.. caused a bit of divide around here with all the rumours. seems to have gone quiet on the facebook pages too over the last few days as regards updates and sharing of posts |

Its a truly bizarre story.
Leaves rave. Goes with two men to a secluded cabin.
Phones friends at 0815am saying he's missed the bus and has 1% phone battery.
Allegedly begins 11 hour walk.
Never returns.

But given the temp and terrain he's on a less than 5% chance of survival.

Like others, I think it's really unlikely that he'll be found safe and alive. I'd love him to be found. But, as with Dr Michael Mosley, he's probably had an accident and succumbed to the harsh environment and conditions. It's remote and unsafe |
