Being a balanced individual, I like to hear all sides of an argument as it allows me to make an informed judgement.

So, when deciding to give up meat , did you consider the impact of having to give up puddings as part of your analysis?

Do you mean gelatine?? As in most set puddings, jelly type sweets + marshmallows?

That's being vegan, maybe that's what he means rather than being vegetarian

Gelatin is made from animal bi-products, bones, and stuff

That's true. When I went veggie I just cut out meat but didn't overthink the small things

No you are wrong - vegan means no dairy, eggs or any animal product.

Gelatin is boiled bones etc.. Definitely animal derived and therefore NOT veggie (or vegan)

Black pudding?

I went veggie for two years. No idea why, I just stopped being able to eat meat. It made me feel sick. Shortly after I got a veggie gf, this infuriated my wife, them bones were clean and dry when she finished with them, she'd crunch the gristle on a rib.

Then with another gf we were going to Alton Towers I think and stopped at Maccies for breakfast. I had a sausage and egg Muffin. I swear to god it was a total foodgasm, I wanted bacon and steak and cheeseburgers and venison and lamb... You get the picture.

I couldn't give up meat, although I abstain a while sometimes for that extra pleasure kick when I get it. I eat veggie quite often now, there's lots of good veggie dishes that can give a good protein kick.

I didn't abstain from animal products so things like rennet in cheese, gelatin, dairy, eggs etc. So desserts weren't an issue. Just flesh.

Gave up when I was 9 and we never had dessert with our meals any way so I never missed it. I’ve more a savoury tooth anyhoo. Always have had. K

Yes when veggie I did. Gelatine infiltrates lots of desserts. That was disappointing.
