He’s not as glamorous is he.
Still as phenomenal an achievement as his more famous colleague. |

Love getting carried away during these tournaments when I know deep down we’re going to get slapped 4-0 by the Germans. But until then It’s Coming Home. |

He's going to play the next game in a pair of boots 1/2 a size smaller. That would have been the difference!
He's had more goals disallowed in this tournament than anyone else has actually scored goals. What a quiz question! |

IT’S COMING HOME!
Don't underestimate Austria!
Update, if England overcome Slovakia, they would play the winner of Italy v Switzerland. Not exactly straightforward! "
Oh ye of little faith!

"Roy Keane visibly irritated by a woman telling him it wasn't a penalty
Let's be honest, it was less about the woman part and more about the referee part
And STILL needs it explained to him, again."
None of the (male) pundits seem to want to accept the explanation of the (female) refereeing expert.

Well, Keane and Neville are former players (and still involved with) [redacted] FC. The same club that's not committing to the women's side of things for next season yet and who have just handed the women's training facilities to the men and moved women into portakabins, while work is done at the training ground.
Colour me surprised. |

There’s a warning gone out about a new drinking game during England games.
You have to take a drink each time England pass it backwards |

Sure, why talk about the match and Euros when you can turn it into a Men Vs Women issue
The penalty was explained, but they can still disagree and think it was a soft pen. They're not just disagreeing with the female ref, they're disagreeing with the on-field ref and the VAR. All male. |

The on field ref wasn't going to give it. It was flagged for VAR check and then it went to that rigmarole where the on field ref jogs over to the little tellybox and watches it back from 73 different angles. I'm never clear if the VAR team behind the scenes actually make a recommendation at that point, but as we know with that decision where a ref totally overruled VAR and the audio was leaked, it's the on field ref who gets the final say. And yes, that was a male ref on this occasion.
My comments about XYZ FC stand. |

Yours and the OP's original point wasn't about the merits of the penalty though, it was the idea that because Keane and Neville used to play for "XYZ FC", that's why they dared to disagree with a female ref even though by disagreeing with that, they're disagreeing with the male ref that made the decision after the VAR review. It was a ridiculous leap to make with no value to the actual match discussion. |

As usual on this theme, we shall agree to disagree. |

It's fine. You may have a point as Neville and Keane famously always got on with male refs in their playing days |

Switzerland just gone 1 nil up & thoroughly deserved.
Don't know how anyone can look at these Swiss playing & be confident about England's chances.
That said Italy have been awful up until now |

I think (want) England to make it to the final they've been playing poor and still haven't technically lost so if they finally turn it on they will have an easy run. Also the group stages are always difficult as most of these lower ranked countries will play for draws. Looks how solvakia was celebrating drawing to us and coming 3rd |

2-0
I'm going to call it now and say that's probably game over. Italy lost the ball straight from kick off.
Switzerland are a far better side than any of the teams England toiled against in their group of life. |

Yeah.
Not taking the Slovakia result for granted, but if I were GS, I’d be very concerned going into a potential QF against them. |

Does anyone else hate the fact there's gambling ads on ITV around the football? It's 19:20, we shouldn't be advertising gambling when kids are very likely to be watching |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
I don't think there should be gambling ads anytime. BT sport are terrible for it squeezing them in between the teams walking out and the red tossing the coin. |

I think all gambling adverts on telly should be banned personally but they pay a lot so until it's legislated out like tobacco it's unlikely to change.. |
