Million dollars to look like Barbie

On the morning news the other day, they interviewed a woman who spent around a million dollars on cosmetic surgery to look like Barbie. The result, in my personal opinion, is she's now just ugly - in a spectacular way, but YUCK! Nothing like a Barbie doll.

Ok, I know it's her right to do what she wants with her body (& her money). Some people might like massive boobs, offset by a giant bum to counterbalance them. Lips that could smother a whole face. And as for her profile .. grossly artificial. But WHY didn't any of her surgeons say you're going a bit far there. Maybe some did and others just grabbed the money.

Love to hear your thoughts & if you did have enough cash to splash, would you get something altered?

each to their own and people have to forgo their own path/happiness

Yes I love surgery and have had lots . though I am transgender so I need to feminise my face which required extensive facial reconstruction to accomplish plus a few. boobs jobs/ tweaks

Me personally I like subtlety though the bimbo look is cool as well and fair play to those that live that look ...

Surgeons in different countries are held to account with different rules/laws ... my surgeons are very decent and look into the psychology of the person first and foremost before anything .. plus there is some things they would never offer to anyone for any money ..

America is different as money talks and each state is different. . Turkey is awful for just grabbing money and whatever ...

if you have money anything is possible.

even running to lead a country or start a war.

my only concern with people is when they get older (as we all do), what happens then. do they keep spending to fight against time or fall into a depression/ illness.

some need rescuing from themselves, not shouted at or abused online. just help and someone to at first listen.

My issue with the industry as a whole is that there's a shortage of surgeons and medical professionals to deal with essential surgery and treatment, whilst billions is being spent on cosmetic surgery.

I appreciate there's some overlap there, but as you say there's also the issue of enabling issues like body-dysmporhia to consider.

I think for some it can be positive but for others it's an endless money pit that never resolves the issues and can become something of an addictive coping strategy. In those cases surgeons are profiting from people's suffering.

Should cosmetic surgeons only perform surgeries that fit their own personal aesthetic?

If I had the money to burn, I'd probably get a small boob uplift and a tuck on my stomach where the skin is a little loose from weight loss. I don't think I'd change anything else.

I feel a bit sorry that she felt the need to so drastically later her appearance.

If it cost £5, was a pill you took once which had no side effects and turned all grey hair back to its natural colour and made your feet pretty, I'd be first in the queue.

Some people have pursued acquiring an extreme look, so will probably seek surgeons who specialise in such things.

We may view someone as having pursued the wrong things but if they are content, that's all that matters
