Happy today being 21st December as it's the shortest day meaning the nights start drawing out and we're heading towards Spring
However, as it's 21st December it's a sad day for some, on this day 21 years ago was the downing of flight Pan Am 109 over Lockerbie with the loss of 258 lives, our thoughts are with those that may have some difficulty dealing with today's date  |

And 30 years ago the tank regiments of the Soviet Union left thier barracks and headed for the border.
2 days later they entered Afghanistan to put an end to the problems being caused by an groups of what the US and UK called freedom fighters.
The "freedom fighters" called themselves the Taliban and things would have gone much worse for them against the Russian Army had it not been for the assistance of the US, UK and other European Countries who supplied them with arms and munitions.

21 years ago I was 22 and had a body like a greek god. It's still like a greek god but only if you're looking through one of them funny mirrors you get at funfairs that make the top half look huge and the bottom half look skinny hehehe...
Also, 21 years ago I had my first 3sum. It was with an ex girlfriend and my best mate.  |

Hi, Today is great for me !! Love it! One of my favourite dates. It is the Winter Solstice; traditionally the day on which Pagans practised certain seasonal traditions. This is the day where the Yule logs and all they signified were brought into the home. It is the day where holly and ivy ( male and female ) were brought into the home too. Just recalling all of this makes me think it would be a brilliant idea for a swingers party next year a good old pagan fucking all at one with nature..... ( sorry went a bit dreamy then ) Im off for coffee with some friends this morning ( no sex they are all well behaved women and they giggle if we talk about sex ) so Im getting off to the supermarket to get them each a yule log. Today is the day that you should celebrate your family, your children , your home and birth. THIS day is the new year... the days will become longer after today. THIS day celebrates the unity of human life and newbirth, the birth of the Sun God child of the Pagan Godess. It's the day to say goodbye to winter death and hello to the sun.

21 years ago today my friend set off from my home to return to Scotland....I offered a last cuppa before she left...just wanting to grab a little more time together. I am so grateful she declined as she drove through Lockerbie just 20 mintues before it happened.....had she stayed and had that last cuppa...I might have been one who found this date difficult. My thought do go out every year to the friends and families who were not so lucky. |

wow 21 years ago! i can remember it well was walking home from school christmas party and heard all the sirens etc then seeing it on the news. all those lifes lost for a so called cause. if it had been ten mins later it would have been my area.
my thoughts are with all of those who lost loved ones xx |
