Is anybody going tomorrow to Avebury to celebrate. Plan to go to Studland during day and to the Stones in the evening!

The Stones? Excellent, where are they playing? Haven’t seen them in years.

Going, as usual, to Coldrum Stones. Sleeping in the van until first light then walking to the site to join the all nighters. Full moon will be a bonus.

Unlike Stonehenge, Coldrum doesn't line up with the solstice but who cares!

Wherever any of us go, I'm sure we will get some satisfaction..

Thinking about an afternoon trip to Studland tomorrow - celebrating the solstice is definitely a good excuse to be naked outdoors.

Good point. The latest sunset is as significant as the earliest sunrise.

From then on it's downhill all the way and my depression sets in until late December, when I get cheered by the prospect of the evenings getting longer (I'm asleep during mornings)!

Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Havant

It’s such an important day

( no I am not a Druid - well not this week)

The solstice should be celebrated but it’s also a bit sad because of the growing length of the nights ahead.

I always have a large glass of port on the summer solstice or home made sloe gin, - this year sloe gin is on tap

(Fizzy for the shortest day in winter )

I am glad people acknowledge it it’s in our DNA it’s primeval and needs to be toasted

In my view
