Sarcasm City

I’ve just seen an advert for LinkedIn premium

You’d have to be conceited enough to use Linkedin for free

So I’m interested..who on here regularly uses LinkedIn and why?

I find it a useful way of connecting with recruitment consultants to get job offers that aren’t necessarily listed. I’d never post anything though. I know people leverage their presence on there to more prominent roles, but I just find openly loving work so much to be absolutely cringeworthy. I just couldn’t. I’m working because they pay me too well to quit, but I won’t think about work for a second as soon as I’ve retired.

I’m on there because I’m job hunting. Needs must.

I use it to network, all the events for educational points are posted there & occasionally for a different job.

Why would you be on linkedin if not to network or job hunt?

"Why would you be on linkedin if not to network or job hunt?"

I think it’s grown in general use a bit since Twitter nosedived. At least for people who see everything as being about work. The kind of people who were on LinkedIn anyway are on it *more* now.

Ah, I've probably used it less over the past few months so haven't noticed much difference.

I’m on there and I don’t pay

I joined to “network” but it seems to be a business Facebook, so I rarely log in now.

I'm really not that interested in work or a career

I just get on with my job

It's enough

I am not even slightly ambitious

I don't want responsibility for people

I'm certainly not interested in the people I work with (or for) and even less interested in customers

It's just work facebook for nosey bastards
