It all depends on the era. Y fronts were a popular invention in 1935. However, they now equate to only 13% of Marks & Spencer's undergarment sales.

metal alloys

where would we be without them?

But he needed the wheel, the screw thread and metal alloys to make it!

Give it up mate. I'm applying for a patent already. I'm only a few days away from submitting. It's going to revolutionise winter driving.

Not sure how a printing press will keep the roads warm lol

My idea involves little cubby holes under the Tarmac. You take all the hot heads and ranters from the forum, slide them under and the steam that bellows from their ears, keeps the roads ice free

I think we might have to equate the coefficient of friction as opposed to the angle of dangle to see if that is at all possible.

I'll get back to you on that one

trust me I try to educate the masses everyday on the phone with the internet I have come to the conclusion to tell them to pack it all up put it in a box and take it back to the shop and when they ask me why is it broken I would just say no your are !!!!

I will give you an example of this;

I guy phoned me out of PHD education I said to him are you profession in using a PC and he said but of course

I said to him right click on the mouse and tell me what you see, the phone went very quiet for about 5 mins so I looked at my phone and we were still connected and I said are you still there and he said yes.

I said OK, what’s happened, he said nothing I thought this is puzzlement a menu should have opened so I thought I will ask him, I said what happened, he said I did what you told me and I said did a small memu open he said no it didn’t should it have?

I say can you tell me what you did, he said yes; I got a pen and wrote click on the right side of the mouse

So I rest my case

I fully agree with the above. Here are two more examples.

At my place of work, we offer free WiFi, by using a password to access the link. But the number of people who cannot even easily control their own devices to enable the passwords and links!

We have "How to" sheets for all the major models to assist guests. Some people don't even know the Model type! One guy said to me recently when I asked him what type of phone he had, "It's a Black one!" - he was deadly serious!

Example No2. During the winter weather recently, I watched as many motorists in their posh 4x4's slithered around on the local roads, foot flat on the floor and getting nowhere. One helpless driver was blocking the entire road as she just got nowhere!

I went over and asked, "have you engaged the Snow and Ice mode button on your automatic gearbox?" Blank Looks!!

So I pointed out said button, and told her to take her foot off the gas and let the car do the work! Still blank looks!

So, I asked her if I could drive the car out of the way onto the level; she moved over into the passenger seat and I got the car out of the way of all the other traffic - road cleared!

She admitted she'd never looked at the Owners Manual at all in the six months since she bought the car; she'd no idea what half the switches were for on the dashboard!

Some people don't deserve to have technology at their fingertips.

"the internet, its changed the world"

I think its a sad fact that the best inventions come at wartime.

packet switched computer networks (the 'internet'), teflon, lightbulbs, nuclear, microwaves, computers are all from the war.

its like scientists need a life-or-death reason to invent things.
