"Do you have it? Is it worth it? Any companies you'd recommend? Or avoid?
Just having a look into it now and as with most insurance, it's a bit of a minefield. "
Get mine through work so can’t really suggest the best, lots are popping up though so it depends what your budget it is and the level of cover etc |

I've had it through work, not in my current job, so I'm also looking into options.
I believe BUPA are good until you claim and that significantly affects next year's premium. That's probably true of most though I suspect.
AXA have a good reputation.
Advantages, you'll get seen/treated much quicker, you'll probably get a private room for any operations, even same day treatments. And you'll get a decent menu to choose from. |

BUPA premiums rose significantly after Covid moment up to £15,000 a year and we were advised to look at Axa as an alternative at around £8000 a year.
Key difference I noticed is Axa doesn’t have the unlimited use of things like physio massage wellness and all the extra benefits that Bupa has. You can still get them but you have to have them approved |

I have (shocking I know lol), only because doughnut gets it through work, I can't name it for obvious reasons but I've been very happy with the care I have received so far, there is a doctor to hand 24/7 pretty much, never had to wait more than a week for treatment, I also have dental too with them which is a massive help.

My company have offered it to me with a dental cover plan. All depends if I wanna pay 40% tax/BIK on it but having said that still works out cheaper than paying for it myself so I think I’m gonna opt in tbh |

Definitely worth it. I added my kids to it. The was a time when I needed mental health counselling for one of my kids and CAMHS wait was years.. Luckily was able to start things off privately because of having this.
