Most miserable person you know

and you cant say seve.
The most miserable miser i know is the old man that comes to see me once a week. He never has a good thing to say, i cant get a word in edgeways and when i do he can find something to moan about. His two favourite words are DISGUSTING and DEPLORABALE both said in an exaggerated voice.
I cant begin to tell you how much of a miser he is (hes not short of a bob or two) but here is an example.
He was going to go shopping in the next town so went to the library to get them to phone the next towns library up to find out where the disabled toilets where, all so he wouldnt have to pay to use the loo |

"My mother. I can honestly say she doesn't have a good word to say about anyone or anything. "
My mam used to be like that til we finally persuaded (forced, bullied, coerced) her to move out of our old barn of a family house into a modern, warm flat. Cos she wasn't in best health n in drafty old place she was a miserable twat and since moving has been much more agreeable and even finally admits that we should have insisted she move years ago! Yeah mam, we fecking well tried! |

My mother; she moans about everything, pokes her nose into things that don't concern her and comments on things that she knows nothing about. She doesn't understand why people watch/do/like things and when you say 'people are individuals' she says 'I know' but really she just doesn't see that and never has, I think she thinks people should be just like her. She has never tided the house she lives in, yet hasn't worked since before she moved it yet doesn't understand how people can sit around doing nothing all day |

I work with someone that everyone has nicked named Marvin after the robot from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
She just goes around with the same expression on her face, constantly moaning about everything, yet does nothing to change anything, even the stuff she can easily change. |

You will all turn up in someone's list somewhere at sometime.
The bloke mentioned by the O.P. seems like he's having a struggle.
If not with life now , then with life past and present and who knows even his childhood experiences, relationships , lack of a future, illnessand the people he HAS to associate with now through lonliness rather than from choice.
No one knows why he's cynical and watches the pennies.
I'm no saint. I avoid miseriers like the plague but without making it obvious.
It isn't difficult to see how misery is worn by some.
For some it's depression.
Should we tell them to snap out of it ?
Or be more understanding?
Another thing .... sometimes it's your own ignorance and fear that makes you label others so easily.
e.g someone with a greater persepective of the world, a greater experience or knowledge who speaks of things you just can't comprehend in your youth or ignorance gets the label you give them.
What's a good label for labellers ?

He tells me his life story every week, i think i know far more about him then you do.
He is just a miserable git and sadly im finding it hard to disasociate him from my life.
What about people that think they are doing a good turn for someone and each week end up more and more drained having to listen to the misery they come out with.
I certainly will think twice before i open my home to someone else

I hear you. I really hear you.
That's why I say I'm no saint. I admit to avoiding situations like that.
Tell him you can meet him in Greggs for half an hour once a month or less.
Ask someone at the befrienders to change his friend.
Get his someone he'll drop you like a ton of bricks for ..... people like that do - without worry. |
