Thing about a cobra is that it stopped being a British car when they messed with the chassis to squeeze the 289 lump in and again for the 427 side oiler.
A British car would never be so brutal, the cobra is the ultimate bad ass, don't fuck with me coz I'm mean, tired and nasty car.
It's an automotive atomic bomb.

Witnessed a beautiful example only yesterday in Weston on the seafront exhibition. The E type is very emotive and it was born out with some many people walking past saying they were reminded of their childhood x |

Fantastic car the E type shame it never lived up to its sales description. Never meet your heros.
I had the good fortune to drive an E type some years back when i was chair of my local classic car club. We had an excuse me drive, where the passengers get to swap cars and have a ride in other members cars. (a bit like doggy without the sex ha ha ) The E type owner took a liking to my 1970 rs2000 and asked if he could have a go. I jokingly said yes as long as i could drive his E type. We both work in the motor trade so insurance wasnt a problem.
What a beautifull car but didnt meet my expectations. Not as fast as expected and the brakes were bum twitchingly scarey. The looks and sound were to die for though. |

My exwifes uncle had a shitty brown XJS that was a proper dog of a car, a proper rust bucket, but he sent it away to a company near Newbury and it came back looking like brand new and felt like a brand new car and a lovely bluey silver color.
If i remember correctly he saw a review of the companys own XJS on top gear and was on the phone the next day.
Hes still got it but he only uses it now when hes on company buissness.
Not exactly a classic car i know, but it ended up a proper beauty of a car |

" The good old Moggie. One of the best cars made.
They didn't fit catalytic converters in those days though
And ?."
Runs nicely and reasonably economically on unleaded, so not a problem. I suppose I could convert to a modern engine, transmission and brakes but it wouldn't be the same. |

I have a Bedford RL which I am trying to keep original but this year I am going to put an alternator on it and upgrade the lights . |

My brother has an OLB, which is all original at the moment. I'm not sure use get the benefit of the upgrades though because he doesn't do enough mileage. |

Well the lights are dreadful and on a long run at night in the rain the dynamo gets some real stick .
Another upgrade will be a electric petrol pump as by the time the mechanical pump has got fuel to the engine the batteries are low and the dynamo takes forever to recharge them .
A bus eh. ! Lucky him . |

Bridgwater - Somerset |
Managed it (when younger and fitter) in a Lotus Europa.
Never tried it in my Lotus 7 - possible but only with the hood off and lets' face it, better if you take a blanket and get out of the car.
With a beautiful, sexy car like the E Type, may be better if you can look at the car whilst shagging your partner |

Don't use the B word! It's a long wheelbase tipper that used to belong to a coal merchant."
Oh !, I thought the B stood for bus and the C for coach .
Doh !. |

"Always wanted an XK120 " Was in Rye a couple of years ago and the Netherlands Jaguar Owners Club were there in the middle of a run up to the site of the original Jaguar factory (Coventry??). Anyway, one guy had a full restored black with red leather interior XK120 which was sooooo good, I nearly offered to lick it clean for him.... and the car Lol!
That was one day on which I was extremely jealous... |
