Folks just been for an interview with a public body.
Got email Friday at 11am interview was today at 11.30am
Interviewer was on his phone at least 3 times checking messages.
It was a competency based interview. 3 ppl and me.
Can’t help but think it’s already a done deal for the person in post on temp basis |

If you dont get the job I would challenge the decision. It was very unprofessional and believe me, you have great grounds for appeal here!!
With experience from my Trade Union background, sometimes even the threat of taking further action because of the behaviour of the Interviewer, (who is acting on the Organisations behalf), can be enough to secure you the job at best or a fair interview at least.
Go for it as what have you to lose?

Definitely not worth making that assumption - I was that person in the temp position not so long back, 15 new perm staff and I'm still a temp. Good luck, fingers crossed for you |

Very unprofessional to have your phone during an interview.
We're there strength questions as well as behaviours? Could they have been timing the strength questions as they should only be 2 mins long. If so I'd have expected him to tell you that's what he was doing.
I would certainly raise it as a concern but do it now, not when/if you don't get the job. |

No notification of questions being timed no.
I will review about raising a concern |
