Everyone loves a bargain or a freebie, right?

What's the best thing you've ever got for a song or maybe as a gift?

*Yep I am this bored today

I went to Sainsbury's late one Saturday evening and all yellow label items were ticketed at 9p - including a birthday cake priced at £14 and two joints of pork

I don't eat pork, but I know people that do so they got bagged too

In terms of a bad deal turned good, a 6 hour delay on a flight from Belfast to Liverpool

Pissed me off at the time, but Easyjet paid out compensation within a week, which paid for 4 nights in Barcelona

A first edition, hardback copy, of J R R Tolkien's "The Hobbit". (1937)

The seller was desperate to sell it.

Um.

Kind of everything I buy is a bargain. I generally only buy things if I feel their value is higher than their cost.

Those super cute fishnets in my profile picture? 97p.

The corsets that bring my waist in to a third of my height? £13 each.

98% of my little black dresses? £5 or less.

I'm a frugal bitch. Even if I don't always look it

I think probably my best ones were a Shark vacuum I picked up on Gumtree for 50 quid. The lady selling was getting rid of a few she'd only used to run round her caravan holiday lets. It was pristine!

Also, a few years back I'd been wanting a dehumidifier but didn't want to pay £300. Spotted a guy hauling the exact model I'd been eyeballing when popped to the tip with daughter. He confirmed it was indeed that, said his mum used it once and did I want it? That's still going strong to this day

I do love a bargain.

Many many beautiful charity shop bargains. The best one being an Osprey of London purse that I use every day for £4. It didn’t have a mark on it

Vintage great quality clothing is amazing at charity shops

My cars.

I rarely pay anything over £100. I think the most expensive is the car I have now, £100 for a Peugeout 206, 45,000 mile on the clock. I bought it from a local farmer who bought it from new, it had been used by his wife, she died and it was just sat at the farm being used to store pig feed

Bonus is the farm has a farm shop so I always get free ice ice cream when I go just because he likes to see the car being used

I also have an 07 Corsa I paid £50 for, that has 70k on the clock and costs naff all to run

Though I have been eyeing up a cute Fiat 500 I like the look of, £800 but not sure I can justify it

Better to look this tight from the bargain basement than to look like that buying brand name

It's a subtle hint at the letter grade your fashion deserves, when I'm feeling kind

I got some free cheese once in my online food shop that I didn't order, and it wasn't a substitute.

It hasn't happened this year but I still have hope.

a place somewhat adjacent to you…

Actually, I was humbled with an amazing gift by my teams out in Romania, Brasov; when I was out there a few years ago, precovid.

They gave me this boxed and rich traditional Romanian red wine, that was just beautifully packaged with a backstory, and was presented to me by the then site manager, who’s now sadly passed away.

It’s one of my most treasured gifts. As it’s was authentic & humbling and I’ll Be forever gracious to those colleagues.

This is beautiful!... Not the same, but I get a box of fizz and chocs, or cheese and wine from a fancy friend who added me to his mailing list at work every year

I absolutely get this! He's a fancy pants lawyer, so its either fizz and really nice chocs, or great wine and cheese!
