Yes we do

Some animals die out naturally, and people too

Then we get through species that can survive nbetter in that environment

Nature knows best

Yes, from NHS for any treatment, to DSS and money for nothing.

I thought that's what the NHS and NICE do when they choose what treatments they will support and fund.

from a parents side i am glad we know what we know other wise two of my kids would have been dead.

I do however thing some of our country's finance problems are due to this. the elderly are living longer thanks to the bio-medical modal of health. so too disabled children been born and living long lives.

I wouldn't have it any other way but do understand the point of there been no natural selection..

Humans have continually developed genetically to suit their environment......what happens to that development, now that we manage our environment....

"Humans have continually developed genetically to suit their environment......what happens to that development, now that we manage our environment.... "

Now we have mapped the genome we can alter genetically the need for us to be the size we are, no need to be physically big or strong to deal with wild animals, heavy lifting etc as we use technology to deal with all those things already, so we simply scale the human race to 50% of our current size (height/weight etc ) therefore it frees up loads more living space(50 % smaller housing), we only use 50% of the food and water thats required and all the tranport thats required, cars, trains, buses, airplanes etc will only require to be 50% of the size so halving the fuel/building materials required, jobs a goodun

Either that or we kill 50% of humans. Would solve the food problem as well - Soylent Green anyone?

Have you not considered the fact that due to natural selection those humans that are alive today are alive BECAUSE of natural selection.

We have evolved from what we were 4oo years ago to what we are now. We live longer, we know much much more about the universe of which we are but a tiny insignificant dot and we have advanced immeasurably in technology & science so that we can sustain the weak among us without having to 'despatch' them like we used to have to do in order for the collective as a whole to remain strong.

Natural selection?

We are living evidence of it.
