I sent a friend towers some weeks back when someone in her family passed away.
I’ve been receiving flowers weekly for the past few months, no matter where in the world I’m at, from friends and loved ones. |

"Anyone that knows me knows not to get me flowers.
Because of the carbon footprint and the damage it does to the environment.
Not even from their garden? "
If they were from their own garden then I might accept a rose. Flowers in a garden look better in the garden. |

I bought some for my Nana a few weeks ago, only to be told they don't allow them on hospital wards anymore.
My sister bought me some last year. Maybe for my birthday? I can't remember. It's been a while, anyway. |

"I had some for my birthday in March. Will be buying some Thursday for my friend as she's just had surgery.
My late partner bought me flowers once a fortnight for 16 years"
Oh that is a nice memory to hold too. |

We don't have flowers in the house as we have cats so far easier not to have them lol.
That said, I used to complain all the time doughnut never bought me flowers (thanks Miley!) for my birthday he got me this beautiful necklace and earrings in a box with a rose on the top in a clear case, so now I always have a flower from him and the kits can't break it/eat it etc x |

"[Removed by poster at 05/06/24 18:21:28]" I
bought a work colleague some flowers a couple of weeks ago bc she needed cheering up. It had those flowers that look like cabbages in. No idea what they are, but I like them!!

"My elder daughter bought me some a couple of months back.
Prior to that I treated myself to some.
The last time I bought flowers was last month, for my parents when I went to visit them. "
For clarification, the last time I bought flowers for someone else was my parents! |

We were given a rose plant on our wedding a million years ago. I have let it go to seed but it still pops out over the 12 foot Jasmine that lines our garden. A little pop of red, every now and then. Very beautiful. |

Whilst this is true growing flowers is invaluable to those communities. In Kenya I lived near rose greenhouses. Beautiful plus they cost pennies so I always had them in the house
I'm definitely conflicted with environmental impact though when exported |

"I despise people that buy me flowers, you're just enforcing responsibility on me I don't want. "
Despise.
For a few flowers, that's sad, especially if the sentiment is from a good place.
We mentioned your post and asked "who is the last person you despised?"
Most just shrugged and said don't really despise anyone.
"Not even someone who bought you a bunch of flowers?"
Sure you can imagine the response.

I buy flowers regularly to put on my parents grave
I like them to have fresh flowers
If there's too many, I always put a few on one of the graves that don't get regular visits
It's not something that, as a bloke, I receive very often |

"I have a Sanseviera and a lavender plant in my bedroom. I’m trying to grow a potted Japanese maple at the moment and if successful I’ll also try a Kanzan.
Had to look that up "
I could’ve said Cherry tree instead of being a pretentious wanker, to be fair. |

I last bought 2 bouquets of roses for my wife on the anniversary of her passing. One for our lounge, and one to lay in the middle of the copse where she asked to be scattered.
Before that I bought flowers for my daughter to say good luck for her final exams. |
