Tragically sad news just in, of a Leeds Rhinos rugby league legend. Died at the age of just 41, following his well documented battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

Brave beyond measure.

Strong and dignified through adversity.

A wonderful human being.

A big part of my love for sport, being a big Rhinos fan through the most golden patch in their history.

I just saw it. What sad news and what a bastard disease. Legend of a man. RIP Rob and hope his family and friends can take some comfort from his enormous legacy.

I think his story captivated many many people who wouldn’t have even known his name before. Along with the heroic fundraising challenges how great mate, Sir Kev undertook, he will not soon be forgotten as a massive champion for the MND community.

RIP Rob , such a brave man , thinking of all his family and friends . Even in his illness he did a lot to open people's minds to the horrible disease .

A friend of mine has just been diagnosed with it. Brutal brutal cruel disease. Let's hope it gets some attention now as treatments (or complete lack of them) haven't moved for decades. 41 though... Just a kid. I'll be honest . Bought a tear to my eye.

Remember the man and his achievements not the illness that brutally took his life. Rob and Kev truly shows us what true bravery and friendship looks like.

I feel for Robs family tonight RIP

Top top man. Such a real shame to see such an athlete waste slowly away like this. Happened to a very good friend of mine and it's cruel.

An absolutely wonderful human being with a courageous and strong family around him and aided by a total rock like Sir (well he should be in my opinion) Kevin Sinfield amongst others.

Rob had a career that many dream about and was taken far far too early.

R.I.P. Sir

Reading the tributes this morning have brought a little tear to my eyes again.

Rob, and the rest of that great generation of Rhinos are the biggest reason I love rugby league still today.

When KS carried him across the line it absolutely broke me.

That was beyond a little tear. That was full on blubbing like a baby. A truly beautiful moment to see.
