"Exciting News!
Just had my first judo lesson, it mainly involved throwing round a 14 year old girl but I enjoyed myself.
you think, she didn't let you win ?"
wasn't winning as no competition involved just learning some basics |

"Have to wonder why they paired you up with a 14 year old girl "
Without being negative, thats an interesting point though.
When I (Al) was doing a lot of Judo, we would do our best to match like for like, and also against non-instructing higher fans who would deliberately leave staged openings to allow the real beginners a feel for discovering and executing the moves they were being shown.
Still the Sensei can only work with what he has I suppose, were there many white belts or people of your size?

As it's easter not many people turned up and most others were orange or brown belts the girl i was with was a green belt. Next week should have a wider range of skill levels |

LOL OK not a real beginner then, and with a green belt should know enough to deal with a new start
Good luck though, I hope you have fun. (and few more to play with next time) |

I played Judo for nearly 20 years. Don't get too big headed over throwing a 14 yr old about the tatami - once she gets a bit more experience, watch out..... she'll pummel you into the floor...
In Judo, size does not matter. Technique is everything.. |

Hope I didn't come across as big headed I certainly didn't mean to. I'm sure I was paired with her as she knew how to take a fall weel and handle a beginner. |
