There I was enjoying another cup of coffee in the garden when I see it. Not a care in the world, just happily munching on my helibore plant leaving it looking like a colander with a thousand holes. Caught in the act and captured, now what do I do with this very, very naughty snail?

Don't eat the snail as helebore is poisonous to humans (and cats, dogs and rabbits)

I was expecting it to be a very hungry caterpillar, at least you'd get a pretty moth/butterfly at the end!

Snails can do one.

Are you sure it was a helebore ? Snails don't normally eat tough evergreen leaves ?

I am sure, unless something else did the damage and the snail was an innocent passerby. Perhaps a thorough investigation is in order before jumping to conclusions and sentencing an innocent snail

Spotted this on Instagram today, where the chap showed how to 'trap' snails and slugs humanely so they don't eat your prized foliage. His suggestion of what to do with them... Put them near foliage you don't mind they eat!
